You need to check if the SSID in enabled in the the settings To do this you have to type in the default IP address of the router 10.1.1.1 in your address bar then type the user name and password normaly "admin and admin" go to the wireless section and check to see if the SSID is set to enabled

The wifi does not broadcast? Check in the setup page to make sure wifi is turned on and its setup to broadcast (It is possible to set it up to broadcast "invisibly" so strangers can't see the network and use your internet) RTFM

CONTINUAL DISCONNECTION OF WIRELESS CONNECTION
There are a few things thatcan cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move thewireless router away from brick or concrete walls and if possible locatethe wireless router higher up.2. Have you secured yourwireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change thedefault password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID,and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC addressfiltering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s toconnect to your wireless router.3. You could be gettinginterference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers andcomputers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, betterstill connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted PowerSupply). 4. Check the channels ofthe wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcastchannel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currentlyused but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interferencewith your wireless router from other wireless routers and accesspoints in your area.

My old d-link router works fine. I bought a new DIR-615 but it won't connect. My computer won't "see" it. I followed all directions several times.

Make sure that the broadcast SSID in your router is enabled. Try setting it up again and make sure all necessary settings are set, or it might be the settings in your computer itself, let me know what type of computer you are currently using so i can check.

Cannot connect to wireless connection using the router c150brs4

There might be many reasons for this. However I always prefer to begin by simple tiny things. Make sure that the router is advertising itself, there something called SSID (service set identifier). The SSID differentiates one WLAN from another, so all access points and all devices attempting to connect to a specific WLAN must use the same SSID. A device will not be permitted to join the BSS unless it can provide the unique SSID.

to make the long story short , SSID is the method of knowing that there is a wireless coverage in a certain area. sending SSID sometimes is considered unsecure. Therefore you have an option of disabling SSID broadcasting. Therefore I suggest to make sure that SSID broadcasting is enabled on your wireless router and then sarch for your wireless network.

One other thing make sure that your router is using a WI-FI technology (802.11b, 802.11a or 802.11g) that is supported by the wireless Adapter (Card) implemented on your laptop..

thanks.

Hiya, Iv installed the wireless but the wireless network connection on my laptop is not connected and it says there is no wireless networks were found in range.

Hmm... If your router seems to be operating like it should (it really doesn't even need an internet connection for the laptop to connect), and you just installed it, my guess would be that the SSID broadcast is disabled. You would have to log into your router and check the wireless section to see if it is. If so, you can leave it that way (which is actually what I would recommend, for security) and setup the network manually on your laptop, or enable the broadcast and connect it like you normally would. If you decide to leave it disabled, then you will need to make a network connection manually on your laptop. You will need to put in the SSID, WEP/WPA passkey (if you have one), and you will have to make sure that you have the option "connect even if this device is not broadcasting" checked. Once you do that, it should work. When your SSID isn't broadcasting, its making itself pretty much invisible to other devices. You can learn more about this here, if you wish.

I just bought a belkin n1 wireless router at a thrift store. everything works but the wireless part. its all hardwired to my desktop, but my laptop won't pick up a signal from it.

I would suggest going into the router itself at 192.168.1.1, and reset to the factory settings, or if you are familiar enough with router configuration, make sure your SSID is being broadcasted. Also, make sure you are currently using the up to date firmware.

Also make sure you are using the correct security settings to connect up to the router once it's discovered under the "Available Wireless Networks".

Hi! It's ok to disable the wireless broadcast of the router however, it wont stop the router from broadcasting the wireless frequency. It will only hide itself from the people who are trying to connect to a free signal that are available.

Router keeps losing its security settings

Check for updated firmware on the belkin website. It may be a firmware issue that has been patched with that particular version.
