Take the wire that they tell you to hook to your parking brake and hook it to ground instead.

You could just simply hook up a small switch so that the unit "sees" a constant ground. You will more than likely have to do some sort of combination in order for this to work. If you look in the manual, it should show you the correct combination. Instead of using the parking brake, you would use the switch. It might be possible to wire it directly to your ground wire. The thing to know with these methods is that you cannot drive around while watching.

How do i view video without hooking to brake cable?

If you choose to bypass the parking wire without using a module manufatured for that purpose; try connecting the parking brake to ground and test. If this doesn't work, you make have to use a two wire toggle switch. Connect one side of the toggle switch to ground and the other side to the stereo's parking brake wire. Switching it back and forth will supply the necessary ground for the stereo.

There should be a safety neutral switch. Try bypassing this in a closed position and it should work. There may be more than one switch one for park and one for neutral.

Dvd wont play

If you hooked the parking brake wire up, sometimes those units require a double pulse. meaning that you set the brake for 1 sec., release for 1 sec, then reapply. then there will prob be a 3 to 5 sec delay before you get video. try that and see if it works. If not get a toggle switch from a local auto store and hook the parking brake to one pin and ground the other. Then treat it as the parking break.
