I have a 2002 36 foot terry EXL fifthwheel. I recently started having slack in the front to back motion of the hitch and pin connection. When you stop the trailer comes forward by 1/8", and when you take off its the opposite, by 1/8". what do I do to stop this problem. the fifth wheel hitch in the truck is not a slider, and I keep it oiled and inside when not used.

depending on where you buy your hitch, a salesperson versus online. but if you get a chance to stop by a camper place and ask what size they recommend. There are a multitude of sizes and styles. like I have a 1 ton dually with the pin in the bed of the truck while my international 4700 has a small semi style plate with the ball ( kingpin) on the trailer. best to see what they would recommend. no obligation and information is free.
front wheel drive type AE 90 series
is this a cables shift ..see if the cables can be adjusted at the box
take the cables off the box and check the stick has full movement
to the fifth gear position
check the engine mounts
if the clutch was recently changed I would suspect that
box has to come out for the next repair /inspection
the syncro of the fifth gear is damaged
the rolled steel pins at the internal selectors has bent or broken
try to source another good second hand box and fit that
sounds like the pin has worked out of your tilt system. you would have to remove the steering wheel and signal switch. over time the bolts back out and create slack therefore allows the pins to fall out.
The "Bobbin stopper" is in the incorrect position. It moves from side to side in a switch like motion. In one direction, it locks up the machine. That is, you can turn the wheele backwards, but not forward.. The bobbin stopper can be found in the book that cam with the machine. In our book, it is item #9.
