Stick the idler in the floorboard, even with the motor pulley and have the idler wheel facing to the left of that motor pulley. Insert the non twisted belt into the idler between the cheapass metal idler pulley mount(have yer woman hold that drum up, make her proud to assist) and now yank back on the idler good nuff to get that belt looped over that motor pully. Then let that idler go so the tenshun on dat boy cause dat belt to stay all propah on dat pulley. Replace that front panel. show me how the belt should be run - 05cc3f4.jpg

Dryer board lights up but when you hit starts it just clicks. Replaced the thermal fuse and the belt is good

Any service codes showing (E1,E2...)? Does the drum turn if you hold the start button in? If so, do not continue hold. There are a couple of safety switches that will keep the dryer from running if they fail. One is the dryer door switch and the other is the belt tensioner switch. If the door switch fails, it will appear as though the door is open, thus will not stay running. If the belt switch fails, the dryer thinks the belt is broken, resulting in a no run condition. If you are handy with a volt/ohm meter, these can be checked. Make sure it is unplugged before removing any panels.

My dryer drum will not turn...."how to change your dryer belt"

There are many styles and different models of dryers but the one thing they all have in common is the dryer has a belt that turns the drum.In the procedure below we will show you how to take apart your dryer, change your belt, and show you the correct threading of your belt. Here is a typical Kenmore dryer idler pulley(it has a plastic wheel on it) motor/pulley (the pulley is attached to the backside of the motor) and the belt configuration.Note the picture below.

Each different model dryer also has a different lint trap location. This location will have a bearing on how your dryer is taken apart and how to change your belt.

Note the location of your lint trap and choose the correct video on how to take your dryer apart. There are two different locations,on top,and in the door.

This video will show you how to take apart your dryer and change your belt if the lint trap is on top of your dryerhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFnXwmUb4f4

Dyer will not turn on. Can hole the starter button in and dryer will run. remove and the dryer will stop running. When holding the start button the dryer does not heat. Any Idea's as to what may be...

broken belt or broken broken belt switch most likely. Open the door. Hold in the door switch and push the start button. Does the drum turn? If it does turn then the broken belt micro switch is where I would look first. If the drum don't turn of course I would replace the broken belt.
The only Kenmore dryer that has a broken belt switch is the 4 wheel drive model. Here is a video which shows how to get into this dryer and replace the belt:

I need a diagram to show me where the belt actually goes. Can you help?

You already have the diagram! (Bear with me).

Make sure that your power is off.

If you look carefully at the drum, you can see where the old belt was running.
Place your new belt in that position.
Now, place the belt over the motor pulley (It is in the same plane as the belt position on the dryer).
Pull the tensioning pulley past the belt, and ease it into place.
Roll the drum several revolutions by hand, just to get the belt tracking completely right.
Put it all back together and you're done!
Best regards, --W/D--

I have a samsung electric dryer. It runs but won't turn. The belt is very loose. Do you have a diagram of how the belt goes on the pullys? This is what I found hopefully this is the model number/belt...

The Samsung Dryer tension pulley assembly is counter-intuitive (especially when your arms are stuck in the small sharp-edged hole). The image shows the proper setup and belt path..._206.jpg

GE Gas Dryer wont run

You had a loose belt. Now you have a broken belt. You can buy a new belt at most hardware stores including Lowes & HD.

They are fairly easy if you are handy.

Remove cover, look for diagram showing belt alighnment (if equiped, some are so simple they don't need one) remove shredded belt and install new.

Dont forget to unplug it first.

All service is performed from the front except for the installing the belt back onto the idler pulley. That procedure is done through an 8" removable panel in the rear at the bottom.
