Wrong kind of disc, or disc is full. try viewing an old recording on it to see if its reading the discs at all. if its not reading disc, itll be a part that is the problem.

Self checking

I have had a Panasonic DMR-E85 with this exact same problem you are describing. As I bought a Freeview Dual-tuner PVR I just bought a second-hand DMR-E55 as I liked the Panasonic interface. Two months down the line it is now exhibiting the exact same problems, except now as well as the continual self-check rebooting, it's also refusing to eject the disk. Booo. Time for me to buy a new DVD recorder again, and this time certainly not Panasonic... :(

Aj-d200 video camera, cassette door stuck partially open. best diagnosis and/or remedy?

Partially open sounds like a mechanical problem with the cassette housing/door assembly. The door usually stays fully open or will not open at all, caused by component failure on the mechanical driver board. Check to make sure nothing is stuck in the mechanism, like a label or a broken piece from a cassette. If the door will move, but will not latch closed, the problem is most likely on th emechanical driver board.

My photos are blue!

Hi Karen,

I would check your white balance. I would also highly recommend some good reading. The author Ken Rockman really has this camera "dialed in". I know he addresses that problem in there. You can find it here. http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d200/users-guide/d200-users-guide.pdf

Have fun with your camera!

Is there information on the DVD and can you tell if there is anything burned on it by looking at it?

What format is this DVD? Is it DVD-R or DVD+R?

Panasonic dvr d 200 hand camera - the recorded disc doesn't play on regular dvd player

First I must say I have different camera, but in my case I must close the disc session from camera menu, so theat after it dvd could be played in dvd players and after it you can't record on that disk anymore. If you alredy know that, then sorry. I have a problem that some non-scratched in any way disks with data just don't respond at all, but that's another story. All the best.
