Question about Dell Photo 964 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Dell 964 All in one printer

I remove my SD flash card from my camera and install it in the SD flash card reader on the printer and it will not read it. Shows as if there is no card installed. Compact flash cards out of my other camera read on it. Dell says the reader is defective but they no longer supply them as they have been out of production for a year. This printer is two years old and seen very little use. Do you know where I might get a new reader for it or send it to be fixed? If it is too expensive I suppose it might be like many things these days and be disposable?
Thank you

The cost of getting the reader repaired would far outweigh the cost of replacing the printer. Your best bet would be to get a card reader that can hook up to your computer and print it out like you would any document.

Hp Photosmart 8150 can't read sdhc memory card

Unless the SD slot is specifically designated that it can read the new SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) memory card it will not read even though it plugs intop the standard SD slot.. I checked and this printer can't read the SDHC card only the standard SD card. You can buy a SDHC USB reader on ebay for a few dollars.

964 Dell printer will not connect to wireless network

As for the 964 printer, ues you can make it wireless by using a Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3300 or some type of wireless print server. To install the drivers for the 964 printer, you will need to post in the Dell Printers Forum, as the printer drivers on a Vista machine are a little tricky to install but I have my 964 printer working with a 3300 , (thanks for Rick dell forum)

Printer will read memory card, but i cannot access from pc

Files on a flash drive can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive you may need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.
If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: -

Another way is to purchase a USB memory card reader, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into the USB card reader. Then connect the USB card reader into the USB port of your computer, the computer will see it as an external memory card. You can view the contents of the memory card and copy the photo files to the computer.
