Are their speakers in the rear as well. does your car have a total of 6 speakers? if so, the new deck can only run 4 of them, thats why the middle speakers dont work.

How to install a Kenwood kdc 138 in a 1992 Ford Escort LX?

if its anything like my 92 ranger you take the dash apart around the radio and the stereo should unscrew, in my ranger the new cd player went in without any extra harness as it was the same size as the stock, if not you can but harnesses to go where your old stereo did, to connect the speakers you can buy a ford wiring harness from walmart or any store with an audio department. these plug in to your vehicles wiring harness so you don't have to cut it out, after that you simply match colours from the wires of the new cd player to the wiring harness

Bought the stereo 6 months ago, now the speakers won't work!!!! Please help!

Hi, when a speaker does not work, you might need to do some troubleshooting tips to know exactly where the problem is .

First you will need to test the speaker cone if it's working properly by using an AA battery and two wires to make sure the cone is working..

Connect one of the wires to the Positive side of the speaker, and the other on the Negative side, And after that use the battery to hear if the speaker cone will make a click sound.

If it doesn't make a click, that means the speaker cone is Bad, you will need to replace the speaker cone,
But if there is click from the speaker cone, that means the speaker is Ok, and you might need to trouble shoot your stereo to be sure if the sound IC chip is Ok in the stereo..

Hope it helped..

How to remove rear door panel on 2003 Jeep

I am assuming you are asking about the 2003 Jeep Cherokee, these are the instructions for the Cherokee, if not, please repost your question specifying which Jeep you have.

Remove all screws securing the interior door panel on. There is a screw on the top portion, and two in the handle.
  • 2 Gently pull on the interior door panel to release the plastic clips that fasten the panel. Use caution to avoid damaging the plastic clips.
  • 3 With the door panel loose, release the two wire connections to the window- and door-lock switches. You must also remove the lock-mechanism poles.
  • 4 Remove the four screws holding on the speaker. Remove the wire connector and set the speaker aside.
  • 5 Remove the window seal by gently pulling. Make note of how each wiring harness is fed through the door panel.
  • 6 There are two clips that secure the window to the track. Using needle-nose pliers, gently pull the clips off of the window. Carefully lift the window out of the track and set it aside.
  • 7 Remove the motor from the track system by removing the three bolts holding the motor to the track. Remove the unit from the door and place it on a flat surface.
  • 8 Remove the lower cable guide by pressing on the tab with a screwdriver and releasing the guide assembly. You must also remove the window-guide mechanism. Make sure it is turned so that you can connect the cable in the guide.
  • 9 Install the replacement window motor and guide assembly onto the door panel using the three bolts. Make sure the cables are aligned properly before reinstalling the window in the vehicle.
  • 10 Install all peices in the reverse order.

My surround sound speakers don't work. No power

LCD will display which speakers are active. And this depends on 2 things: the source signal and decoder mode.
If source signal is stereo, only front L+R speakers are used. For 5.1 signal (for example DVD over HDMI / optical/coax spdif) all speakers installed (which are not set to None) are used.
To listen to stereo input signal using all speakers, switch decoder to enhancer mode.

chances are youve got a short at the rear of the receiver. look for frayed speaker wires touching the chassis of the stereo. use a flashlight. it only takes one tiny hair of a wire to short it out

Is it possible to install a car stereo without disconnecting the battery cable? I have heard someone mention a harness system where the battery does not have to be disabled for installation. Is this...

Yes, it is possible. There is no "special harness" that allow this to be done any easier or safer. If you have a proper wiring harness for the radio that doesn't expose any bare wires or involve cutting up your car's original wires, it's pretty safe to do. You just unplug the old radio and plug the new one in place. But no matter what kind of wiring harness you have, it's always better and safer to disconnect your battery to keep anything from shorting out.
