Question about Motorola Mobility MoroKRZR K1m Cellular Phone

Hello, I have my girlfriend's K1M. The screen has come on and off intermittently for her until it stopped working completely. She has pictures on it that she would like to retrieve. (Not on a microSD). When I plug it into the charger, the keys light up, but no screen... When I try to tur it on, the keys light up while I hold down the red button, but go out when I let go. Last night I plugged it into the charger, and it came on as normal, but I had no way to get the pictures off. after about 5 minutes, it blinked off, andI can't get it to come back on. Is there a chip I can move to a different working phone, to get the information off of it? Or do you know how to "wake" it up again? Thank you for any helpyou an giveme, and your time... David

Yesterday I took the K1M apart to see if a hinge cable came loose. I had to download the manual to get it back together, but managed to do so... No change... Still a black screen with the only the keypad lighting up... Does anyone know if it is possible to see the contents of the pictures and contacts from the computer if I download the K1M drivers from Mototrola? And if so, what program is best for that. I have Roxio Creator 10, and Nero 9... Thank you for any clues you may have to help me... David

If you leave it off longer, you have better chance of being able to retrieve somethings. If your cell service doesn't support sending of the photos, at wal mart, the sd cards for it are 7.88 with adapter for computer. Charge the phone, leave it alone afterward for at least 3 days...then turn it on and begin transferring items to memory card until display goes out. Turn it off and repeat in a week or two. Took me 1 year to get all of my stuff. It still does it after 2 years. I was told that it was not able to be repaired, it was water damaged. After seeing all of these same issues, though, i am about to contact motorola.

Samsung 40" LCD Built in

Samsung sold thousands of big screens with a power capacitor issue--they have issued extensions of warranties on many models covering free in-home repairs by licensed regional technicians (sometimes not where you bought the TV). I know this one--at first, the TV would just behave this way maybe twice, then stay on...later, as the problem advanced, three, four, then five, and on, until finally it would keep cycling off and on until it completely stopped working. When my girlfriends' 46" LCD Samsung finally quit, we called Best Buy, who told us to call Samsung, who then did send a technician from about 60 miles away--he had the little capacitor replaced, and the TV working, within minutes. I asked him how they could afford to do this, and he informed me that he makes runs of these jobs, scheduling perhaps a dozen in one day. So, it's chronic, yes, and they're aware of it, and fixing it--hopefully still for free! So, I'd call my dealer, see if you have to call Samsung, then if you do, then call 'em--they should still be sending out the cavalry for this issue--they caused it by using cheap, poor-quality capacitors (the replacements are 'new and improved', and we've never had an issue since).

My screen keeps on looking like couloured static and i can recieve calls and texts. The screen used to work but now it keeps on glitching up

Hello,

there is nothing wrong with your screen, the problem is from the flex that connects your screen to the phone's main board. This flex must have worn out that's why your screen is not displaying any picture.

The problem is common with flip and slide phones. The flex gets worn out as a result of constant opening and close of the flip or slide phone.

I would urge you to replace the flex and I am assuring you that your screen will display picture again. You might also be lucky to find out that the flex is not well fix, that is, it may have loosed contact.

If you cannot change the flex yourself, maybe you should take the phone to a local repairer within your vicinity, so that the flex can be fixed/replaced.

Good luck.

My motorola screen is broken, still have pictures in there.

Using Motorola's own software, you should be able to connect the phone to your computer through the phone's mini-USB port (the same port you charge it through). Install the software first, then connect the phone. If you don't have this particular kind of cable, ask a friend. They are very common and come with literally hundreds of products. You should be able to extract the pictures from the phone that way.

Motorola krzr k1m stuck on vibrate

So my girlfriends phone wouldn't stop vibrating either...so I just threw it on the carpeted floor (throw it somewhat hard, obviously not hard enough to break it).....then the vibrating stopped.....worth a shot I guess if you don't want to go through the hassle of sending it in.
