Question about E-Machines 17" Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor
I purchased 2 of these monitors to use with 2 emachine EL1202-09 computers I purchased for my Church. Both have dime light screen. I tried various adjustments
using the controls on the side of the monitors, but was unable to get good pictures. The cable that came with the monitor connects the VGA port of the Computer to the VGA port of the monitor. Can you help mr please?
SOURCE: eMachines TFT LCD Gone Black
I have a E17TR (17") version that a friend gave me (free) a few months back, and just this morning it failed in the exact same way.
My theory is that the image is there but that it is just not being illuminated (so that I can see it). Such a case would suggest a problem with the Backlight or the Inverter.
I have found two web pages (from a company selling LCD repair parts) that can explain better than I.
Hope this help (the pages educated me).
Now if I can just figure out how to open the case; I took out the 4 screws (on the lower end of the back panel), but it just will not open in any way that seems logical . . . .

SOURCE: setting resolution
Adjusting the resolution is done in Windows. Right click on the desktop and click on properties. Once that opens click on the Settings tab. There you will have a slider bar that you can adjust your resolution with. As far as being able to see things clearly on the monitor, the best picture is usually obtained simply by pushing the AUTO button.
