yes it does look behind the tv. you will find two wholes, one on each side . put your hand in , and feel the top of the whole threw the inside, you will need to remove the bolts on both sides, you will need two people one on each side to lift the screen from the base, notice the hinges on the back , grab the hinge with one hand and place your other hand on the front and lift carefully , DANGER very heavy...
Sorry, I had the same thing happen to me. The problem is a chip that has blown on the main control board in the unit. The board must be replaced, but I checked and as the service place told you, parts are not available. Looks like it is time for a new TV
this is a very common problem just unplug tv for 5 minutes it
should fix it . simple fix most of the time with rca and proscan.
If that does not do it go into menu scroll down to audio and then press on .
