Usually this is due to a hardware problem with the keyboard. 98% of the time by replacing the keyboard you'll fix the problem.

You could also try reinserting the data cable from the keyboard to the motherboard.

It can sometimes get a tiny tiny bit loose and cause problems like this.

Be VERY careful when you remove the plastic tab that holds the keyboard data cable in place. They are EXTREMELY easy to damage.

I know I've messed up plenty myself

:-P

Best of luck!

Hi
Most Toshiba laptops can be factory reset by holding down the 0 key (zero) then turn the unit on and keep holding down the 0 key when you hear long bleep it should then be loading system files at that time you can release the 0 key and it will continue to load fresh copy of your windows system. If this is a new unit to you then it should not be a problem but if you have anything stored then just a warning it will delete any files in documents, pictures etc. good luck!

# six key and delete buttons not working

If you mean the keys are depressed and won't spring back up, then maybe just temporary stuck. I have kept hitting a key many times, hard and it freed up. If that doesn't help then buy a keyboard on EBAY.COM

Enter, backspace, delete, shift keys not working in sony vaio E series backlit keyboard with BIOS version R0170E5

At all? anything caught underneth them? Unsnapping keys is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Give that a try. if it's still not working check your device manager to be sure.

The active window keeps moving to the background, and I need to click every time to bring it back to continue typing.

Step 1:
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key this will vary depending on your computer and operating system usually the Delete or the F2 key Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart.

Did you spill something on it? (the most common cause of this issue).

try cleaning it with dry cloth, compressed can of air, etc......NO WATER/CHEMICALS.

if that don't work, take it to a shop, or if it's still under warranty, get it repaired/replaced directly from SONY.

I guess all you can do is try dry the water by tipping the laptop upside down (Keyboard face down) and also use a hairdryer or something hot to try and dry it. Dont overheat it!!!

Futitsu series s ifebook keys not stopped working

The laptop keyboard needs to be replaced. The keyboards on laptops wear out faster than others. Sometimes the heat from the laptop can cause the keyboard to not function properly. Your best bet is to replace it.
