Question about RoadPro Road Pro 12 Volt Dc Portable Battery Jump Starter & Air Compressor 12V Dc Portable Battery Jump Starter & 260 Psi Air Compressor

Open Question

Need a replacement wall charger for a RoadPro RPAT-774.

This is the RoadPro brand portable, 12V jump starter/aircompressor/power outlet model RPAT-774.
I have lost the wall charger and need a factory replacement or the specs so to find a generic replacement.
I wonder if the (John748, 1/17/09) answer to a similar question for the Duralast DP-DL (120VAC 60mHz input, 12VDC 450mA output ) will be the same for mine?? THANKS!!

SOURCE: I have a Duralast Jump Starter BP-ELG and the

Since you say, it is a 12v DC portable Jump starter, the battery inside it is also a 12V battery. You need a 12V charger (eliminator, wall adaptor or whatever you may call it) Regarding current, it could be anything above 500 mA. Better if it is a 1A or 2A or even 3 A depending on the amount you are willing to spend. Now is the most important part. The polarity. I do not know it since i do not have this equipment. Most chances are that you will find (on the RoadPro) a circle and a dot (along with a +VE and -VE marked near it) around where you plug in the adaptor. For most equipments the outer circle is the -ve and the inner dot is the +ve. (unfortunately this could be reversed in some equipments) If you can find this notation on your RoadPro you are lucky. Just go to any electronic shop and buy an adaptor (12V) that matches this circle and dot notation. The same symbol representing polarity will be marked on the adaptor also. Else, you will need the assistance of someone who can check the continuity using a multimeter. This way you can find the polarity. It is pretty easy. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I received RoadPro RPAT 774 as a gift sometime

It should have an AC cord that plugs into the case, but if the battery inside is a lead acid type, it may have sulfated to the point that it won't accept charge. You may have to remove the battery from the case and try to charge it with a small external charger overnight. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: My Duralast jump starter is dead and when I tried

It will not charge without an adapter suitable for the rated charging amperage. Also,
it must have a ground.

Where to find adapter

stores that sell the brand and model may have the available adapter but I doubt it if they sell them as separate parts for they all come from the manufacturer as a set. or else you may order directly from the manufacturer for the adapter.

Can a Duralast jump starter kit start a car while plugged into an outlet?

The charger to a Jumpstart charges at a low rate (300mA to 500mA) and will not push enough current to start a car. Best to have Jumpstarts recharged every 6 months to be ready for emergency.
