Virus?

Recently i decided to try syncing my email on my moto Q9c.
Then about two days ago I opened an email from someone i didn't know by mistake.
stupid, i know.
i think it may be a virus.
I think this because my phone is malfunctioning in multiple ways.
First off, it's really slow compared to normal. Also, when i want to select my text messages on the home screen, the center (select) button will not work. It jumps either up or down and selects another option.
Another problem is when i bring up a new text message, the keyboard sometimes will not text only after I type "i" (as in "i don't know, i think", etc - it'll only type the "i", and then i'm typing blank spaces.)
it's almost as if the phone can't keep up with the message i'm trying to type. and trust me, i'm not typing fast at all.And other times, it'll only type blank spaces.

So please, help me. I do not know how to fix this.
