Monarch Paxar 9652 Thermal Printer - Not Printing

Just bought a second hand Paxar 9652 which looks in brand new condition. I'm using the Seagull 9652M Printer Driver with Win WP Pro. Label dispenses OK but no print or movement/marks on the ribbon. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Peter

Hi there, I am printing on Zebra S600 using Seagull Scientific Driver, The printer only prints every alternate label that is prints one label and prints a blank. Thank you for your help

Skipping labels is usually a printer driver issue. You should use Seagull Scientific printer driver only if you are using the corresponding Seagull Scientific label design software. It is important to have the printer driver and label design software be from the same manufacturer.

Check to see what printer driver you are using. If you are using Seagull Scientific Bartender, you will need the printer driver from Seagull Scientific for it to print properly. You can download it from the Seagull website. Hope this helps!!

The Monarch 9403 does not print out multiples of labels continuously, it stops between each single label. Can you help? Cheers Debbie

I may need a little more information.

If you are using a 3rd part software application like that from Loftware, you may need to create your labels in such a manner that the print module prints strips of labels, and in the quantity that you need. Then the printer should produce the quantity each time you go to print.

If you are using a 3rd party driver, like that from Seagull Scientific, then you need to tell it to print that quantity, just like you would when printing something on your inkjet printer.

If you are sending the printer's native language directly to the printer, there is something called the format header. It looks something like this:

The second 1, is the quantity of labels. So if you want it to print 5, you need to change it to something like...

If neither of these make sense, please provide some additional details so that I may provide further assistance.

I need speedy label software for Windows XP This used to ship with paxar monarch printers. The earlier version works only on Win98 Can anyone provide me this ?

You can open up label templates in Word or other word processors. For Word, you can find these on Microsoft's website for free generally.

If you are using Avery labels, they have their own label software package custom designed for their products here:

I have a paxar pallet label printer monash 9643 and I can't get it to print it doesn't use a thermal ribbon so what is wrong

The printer uses thermal direct labels, kind of like fax paper, where no ribbon has to be used.

That said, contact Avery Dennison, the people who purchased Paxar, and tell them that you need supplies for this printer. Their number is 1-800-543-6650. They can help you from there.

Second hand zebra 90 xi doesn't function with my computer. everything works except printing the label

Did you try any of the self test labels? When the printer is turned off, press and hold either the PAUSE or CANCEL front panel buttons while you turn the printer on.

If a label prints out, you likely have communications issues (maybe bad printer cable) or possibly printer driver issues (try to download and install the Seagull driver from

Drivers for monarch paxer printer

The printer doesn't have to have drivers. You can use the programmer's manual from here:

or you can use drivers from companies like Seagull Scientific, which allow you to create a label using something like Word, and then their drivers create a graphic image of the label you want, and in the language that the printer understands, which allows it to print out like you like.

Seagull would likely have to provide the real help here, but it sounds like your Seagull drivers are not using the correct supply setting. If the supplies have a black mark on the back of the liner, then set your driver up as black mark. If they ONLY have a small gap between the labels, then set it up as die cut. If it has a die cut and a black mark, set them up as black mark.

It is also possible that your sensor is dirty, damaged, or covered up so that the printer cannot see the supplies. If you're not using Monarch/Paxar/Avery Dennison supplies, then the index mark (die cut or black mark) may not be to the printer's specification and it just doesn't know when to start and stop on a label.
