Try deleting the contact in your YahooMail contact list and not your YahooMessenger list. Both YMessenger and YMail use the same addressbook. So whatever you do in one is reflected in the other.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Yahoo messrnger encountered a connec prob (81003004) help

Firstly; this error occurs when your connection preferences are not properly set. I'm not talking about your Yahoo! ID and Password here, but you may need to adjust certain features depending on what network you're on. Let's says for example, if a firewall protects your network, it may block yahoo messenger when it tries to connect to the server. You need to change your connection settings, click the Messenger menu in yahoo messenger and select Connection Preferences. Select Firewall With No Proxies. Select your Internet Connection type from the pull-down menu at the bottom and enter your Home Country if the adoptions aren?t grayed out. Click OK and login again using the new settings. If this option doesn?t work, click Connection Preferences in Yahoo! Messenger again and select No Network Detection. Try to login again using the new settings. In some instances, you may need to provide yahoo messenger with the IP address of your firewall or proxy server (you can get this information from your network administrator or from your Internet service provider). Click Messenger and select Connection Preferences again. Select Use Proxies. Enable either the HTTP Proxy or the SOCKS Proxy as needed and provide the proper address. Click OK and login again using the new settings. Secondly; if you are using IM9 there are sign in problems. This is what yahoo has to say. Try an updated version of Yahoo! Messenger 9.0(9.0.0.2128). This latest build includes a fix for the sign-in issues that have been affecting some users. If you were seeing an error code?81003005? when trying to sign in, this latest version may fix that problem. Even if you were experiencing a different kind of sign-in issue, I recommend installing this latest version. Hope it was helpful!

Error Code -40402

Well, the Yahoo Messenger 9 doesn't let you change the contact details.

Use the following link, and if you edit your address book in your yahoo mail account, the yahoo messenger takes over the nickname from the address book in the e-Mail account...
http://address.yahoo.com/

I hope this solves the problem

YM error 81003005/log-in ID, password invalid

I observed that this yahoo messenger comes with the network's (where you are connected at) firewall restrictions. There has got to be in between with your YM and the firewall. This problem is common when you belong to a proxy.
Secondly, if the firewall is the one not bugging you, it might be the DNS servers are causing the troubles. Sometimes, it seems the connection goes well only that DNS problems got in the way. This occurs rarely but if you can catch this problem, headache solve. The second solution discusses this.
Lastly, this has also got to do with the software part, that is the YM itself. As you can read in some of the comments below, other accounts work well and to some do not. If this is the case, then the connection (firewall) itself is not the problem but the software. Yahoo's advise is to update to its recent version of YM. Well, I did this but I was trapped with the same problem. My second solution works well for this kind of problem. Read on.
Solutions
[Solution #1]
Here's how I solve it:
1. Open your Internet Explorer
2. Go to Tools > Internet Options then click the Connections tab
3.Click the LAN Settings button and a new dialog box will open
4. At the new dialog box, look for the Proxy server checkbox, if this is checked, uncheck it.
5. Then your done, click OK button for the dialog boxes.
6. Try logging in to your Yahoo Messenger account.
My solution is good only if you have set your proxy server previously in your Internet Explorer. I've noticed this behaviour since in our school, I need to set the proxy server to access the internet. But at home, I don't need to. So when I am at home, this is the normal situation I encounter when I forget to unset back the proxy settings.
On the other hand, the other way around should work. What I mean here is, if you connect to a network that has a proxy server, you need to setup the proxy settings in order for you to use their internet services. Thus, access to yahoo could be established.
[Solution #2]
One area to look also if the proxy is not the one causing the problem, you can check if you have your DNS Server address(es) set, which - in case you have changed your network, can't be accessible to the new network. Thus, it can cause this error.
So, you may unset the DNS Servers (Go to Network Properties >> General Tab >> TCP/IP Properties >> General Tab > Obtain DNS Server address automatically) and try logging in your YM.
[Solution #3]
If the above solutions does not go well, this last one might be the savior. Instead of constantly banging your heads with those re-logins and reconfigurations, you can track back your YM version and replace it with an old version instead. I did this and it works for me well. I had before a version 9 Yahoo Messenger and when I replace it with a version 8, the problem was solved. This should be your last resort if the previous won't work. Remember also to be patient. If it bugs you, don't bug down... bug up!
Here's an old version of Yahoo Messenger (8.1.0.419.exe) - [Download]
Hope these helps.

I have a problem error 81003005 how can i remove that error ?

You could try uninstalling the messenger and then doing a clean download and install(meaning make sure when you download that all of your running programs are turned off, including your virus control.) Also, you might want to check your virus control under interent content or whatever yours may call it and see if you have been prohibited from using yahoo messenger there. Someone may have accidentally prohibited any chat or messenger programs. Good luck and let us know with a rating. thank you.

Error In installing Yahoo Messenger

Go to the toolar and click on Tools. Pull down the menu and click on internet options. The first tab is generally and you will see the option to delete your cookies, history etc. DO it. Then:

Be sure that you are doing a CLEAN download and install. Turn off all running programs including and escpecially your virus/firewall program. Look through the little icons on the lower right and turn off everyone that you can. Your firewall will actually stop a clean download. After you have downloaded and installed messenger, do a restart and make sure that your virus control is running again.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you!

Having problem with Yahoo messenger

on the yahoo messenger window, before you sign in, click messenger then connection preferences. it should be on no proxies.

this applies if you installed it on your personal computer and not in a computer connected to a network IE. office network or school network because you will need a proxy for those.

hope this helps...

goodluck!
