How do you remove underwire lodged between drum and outer case

A bra wire has become lodged between the drum and the outer case of my Hotpoint WMA10 front loading washing machine. Any ideas on how to remove it?

We did all as instructed and eventually ...... managed to wiggle the underwire from beneath the heater. Your instructions certainly saved us an expensive call out even if it did take about three hours to work the magic, interrupted by cups of tea on the job! Many thanks.

Hi to remove bra wire from between drums ? you might try this 1st ? if you diconnect water supply hoses and unplug power supply then remove rear panel from machine you will have access to the large rubber drain hose from outer drum down to discharge pump ? ok hose is held by spring wire clips both ends remove clips then hose you may find bra wire either in hose or close to drum drain if you need ? feel inside drom via drain hole ? or probe with a piece of coat hang wire ? you may even find the mysterious missing sock/ thong / etc when you disconnect the hose too?? any debri has to lay in bottom of outer drum and so a little patience will locate them using this method instead of removing the main front door sealto drum for access to same area also with rear panel off you can check belt tension ? hope this helps/inspires you ? best wishes from uk

While spinning, it made a loud noise but finished washing the load while continuing to make the noise especially while spinning fast.

Hi Chantal,
In my many years repairing Miele machines - the most common problem for what you are describing is the underwire from a bra has got in between the inner and outer drum. It's tricky to get out and can be done if you are good with tools and a little technical - but it does involve opening up the machine, removing one of the heating ellements and searching / fishing it out. Another less common reason for this rubbing noise could be the metal heater element bracket that also sits between the inner & outer drum, has bent - but this is normally caused by a bra underwire. Hope this helps.

Maytag Nuptune washer in spin cycle sounds like a plane taking off

Something small, like a paperclip or the wire from an underwire bra can get stuck in the holes in the drum, and rub against the outer drum. You will have to check carefully to find it.

Hi We have a zanussi washing machine and a bra

This is very good polish washing machine

A quick solution is to bend a piece of wire (2 pcs), preferably a rigid hanger for example,) if they can fold back the flap gum can try to pull up underwire

Probably the rear cover is removed, remove the drum, and also use a piece of wire or other tool ... This is a typical problem for women;) can be found a few minor by the way;)

Electric Dryer Model DCSR473EVOWW has loud scraping sound when drum turning .... sounds like metal on metal

There is likely to be something stuck between the inner drum and the outer casing. In my experience this is most commonly the wire from an underwired bra! (belonging to my wife!)

If the inner drum has holes in it feel the surface carefully all over to try to detect a wire or other object protruding into the drum. If you find something it can often be pulled free with a pair of pliers or pincers.

Loud squealing sound during spin cycle

Possibly a foreign article stuck inside the drum. When the machine goes onto spin this can rub against the outer drum causing such a sound.

This is commonly the underwire from a bra that has worked loose and lodged in one of the holes inside the inner drum. Have a careful feel round the whole inner surface of the drum to see if you can detect anything protruding. If you find a wire, grip it with a good pair of pliers and try to pull it out, remembering the shape that it probably has so it will need to be coaxed out accordingly. Anything protruding through the holes doesn't belong there!

I have removed three of these from our washing machine!

Bra wire stuck between inner and outer drum how to remove Hotpoint WMF760

Depends where it is stuck. If near the very front you can sometimes get them by removing the door seal to gain a small access between drums. Other ways is remove the outlet pipe from the bottom of the drum or easiest and most probable area where it stuck is remove heating element. Provides a better view and bra wires normally get stuck on them.

Bra wire stuck in the drum

Are you from outside the United States? I tried running the model number in our system and it does not come up as submitted. In the GE/Hotpoint Look-up there are only three models listed...Without a good and verifiable model number, I cannot help further.....

Bra wire stuck

you may not have to take the washer apart, take a good ligtht and look around inside the spin tub, if a part of the underwire is sticking thru, try and pull it out. Do not use the washer until the wire is removed or it actually could cut the tub and then the machine will leak $$$

Let me know the make and model if you need more assistance

Bra underwire stuck

Switch off machine and unplug it from the wall socket. Remove back plate and identify the heating element. It should be located at the bottom of the outer drum. Remove element and you will have limited access to the space between the drums. Rotate the drum slowly by hand untill the bra wire gets to the bottom of the drum. Remove obstruction with hook or long tweeser.

Washing machine Drum rattles

It is probably between the clothes tub and the outer tub. To remove it from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub and try to remove the clothing through the port. Good luck
