The gun seems to be worth around 700-800$ in decent shape, so I'd say depends on the price for refinishing. Try to see if you can get an estimate.
If you're not planning on selling it, and keeping it in the family. I would recommend getting it in good condition and put in a nice case so it can stay good.
I have just acquired one of these for sale in by a charity that I do some voluntary work for; I can scan the 10 page instruction book and email the pictures to you. All I would want in exchange would be a rough idea of what the machine is worth. It looks to be all present and correct in its case but without the practice balls. I am not a golfer and know nothing about these things - are the practice balls different from normal golf balls and would they be expensive to replace?
Please email me on email@example.com if you still need the instructions and even if you have them could you still help me out with my two queries.
You would have to take it to an expert to have it authenticated. Contact a reputable Auction House and they will give you the name of some one who could do the job for you. DO NOT let it out of your sight. If it is the real deal, then it is worth a mint. A creditable person would not mind you being present while they examine and check its markings.
