Question about HP xw4600 Workstation Linux Installer SATA-SAS PC Desktop
Posted on Oct 19, 2010
Basically you've got to take your XP cd and modify it to work correctly with your laptop.
Have you already tried using just a regular XP cd? If it didn't work it's because your laptop harddrive is SATA and not IDE. The XP cd doesn't come with the correct drivers so when you finish installing XP a blue screen of death will come up and prevent you from loading Windows.
Here's a basic guide on how to do it.
If this sounds complicated then I would suggest sticking with Vista.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Best of luck!
