Dear dragonfly 111, try to download the latest i-tune on your laptop from the right site, remove your installed older version of i-tune... restart you computer, install your latest i-tune, now try connect your i-pod, make sure you mark your automatic i-tune software update to keep your ipod work at it best...

Dear Dragonfly111, please go to my computer's property and choose the hardware tab then select device manager. On this main page, click the option "scan for hardware changes" plug and play. Your system should notify an obvious icon about your ipod connected. Now, right click on ipod icon. choose uninstall and confirm the dialog. then back to "scan for hardware changes" plug and play. this is the moment you have to direct your new device (ipod) to find the driver or any necessary software concerning your ipod program folder in the program folder on local disk (:C). Any other way is to manually uninstall the itune software then restart your computer. upon this step please install the itune again. hope you happy.. good luck!

    Dear dragonfly111,
Try to get (or perhaps... borrow..) another ipod unit from anyone, then connect it to your computer
with your same data cable, if it still doesn't work, I suspect your data cable is broken. The last chance is try to replace (..or borrow..) the data cable for ipod.
    Good Luck!

Hi,

when you go on itunes and click on your ipod name does the box that says "manually manage songs" have a tick by it?

uncheck it and then it should automatically sync the songs.

How to get music files on your MP3 player

Sometimes,downloading is just not enough.
When this happens, with illegal or legal sites usually there will be a share feature when you right click. You can hit share and it will usually be assigned to the recently added tab on Windows Media Player (WMP)
from there you can add the songs by right clicking the ones and hitting "add to sync list".After that you can go the sync tab and plug in your MP3 or iPod player. The device you plug in should appear and then the sync button should now be pressable.

Cant get songs onto ipod shuffle.(daughter has ipod touch)

Hi there,
When you go into the ipod section on iTunes, click the music tab, make sure 'sync music' is checked and 'selected playlists:' is also, then check the playlist you want to use. Click 'sync' button

If that don't work go back to the summary tab and hit 'restore' and follow the instructions to reset the ipod, resync and all should be fine.

All the best

Computer doesn't recognize MP3 player -

Make sure you have media player 11
If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
Download recovery tool off creative's website.
go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them

Also told Microsoft hotfix causes this problem try uninstalling the last hotfix
If that doesn't fix it try the USB cable
