My Kenmore ice maker is working fine - however my water dispense just stopped working. Filter is replaced every year - and it looks clean when I took it out. everything else is working great - just no water. When I push the button for water it spurts just a tiny bit of water and that is all and then quits.

Filters can break down and clog them selves. Try replacing that first then the water valve and lastly the filter base.

SOURCE: Kenmore Refrigerator stopped dispensing water

Either your water tank in the fridge froze up, the waterline that goes up the freezer door from the bottom hinge froze, or the switch that your glass hits is damaged. Do you hear any humming or noises when you put your glass up to get water?

SOURCE: Kenmore elite (106.53606202) ice maker will not dispense ice

When you push the ice dispensing lever, you should be able to hear the micro-switch clicking. If no click, the switch is faulty. The auger motor which is activated by the lever could also be faulty. This is the motor that causes the auger in the ice bucket to rotate one way for crushed ice and the other way for cubes. The auger could also be jammed. Try switching between crushed and cubes to unjam the auger. Empty the ice bucket and start again.

SOURCE: kenmore side by side ice maker

Hello,
There are as you can imagine many possible causes for you no ice condition. I will give you the most common problem for the year model you have. I hope this helps you.
You will need to remove the ice maker from the freezer compartment to check it. Once it is repaired if the following information does help, and you reinstall the ice maker, it should go through a cycle automatically within an hour of your reinstalling it in the freezer compartment.
Once you have the ice maker out of the freezer compartment you will need to remove the white cover on the end of the ice maker and look at the center of the large white gear. If the part inside the hole in the center of the gear is broken or looks twisted, you will need to replaced the module. The module is the part that has the large white gear and is held in the ice maker by 3 phillips head screws. It only comes as an assembly. You can't get just the little broken piece.

SOURCE: no water to ice maker

  • The water line that's attached to the back of the refrigerator. Make sure you have good water flow. If the flow is poor, repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water.

  • The water-inlet valve. Replace it if it has failed.

It is definitely the water filter. With the hardness of the water from our county I have to change our filter every 6 months. After replacing the filter be sure that it is seated well. It can leak if it is not fully engaged. Run water through the dispenser until the air is out.

Ice maker stopped dropping cubes. Fiddled with it and now seems to be working okay, but red light on right side is blinking. Read online that there is a filter that should be cleaned. Where is it?...

I don't know what fiddle with entails, so I can't respond to that portion. However, if it works, just watch it going forward.
If you have filters, change them The date used is for average conditions only, and you might be due now.
The condenser coils under the machine should be cleaned, and your manual should cover that for you.
The machine should be turned off or unplugged when performing that.

Kenmore side by side water dispenser has stopped

Most likely need to replace the water inlet valve. The water supply line should be directly connected to it. There are 2 valves bracketed together, 1 for the ice maker and 1 for the water dispencer. You will probably have to buy both valves, but want to do this anyway as the second valve will fail soon. Hope this helps.

    Kenmore Ice Maker

Sounds like a water valve problem to me. Force the ice maker to cycle. (turn it off and let it get cold for at least an hour then turn it back on). Test for voltage on the ice maker side of the valve. The valve is usually in the back near the floor. Just follow the water line. Another solution. switch the wires on the water valve. then try the water dispenser and see if it makes the ice maker fill up. See if when the ice maker cycles water comes out the door. If the ice maker causes water in the door , replace the valve, If door switch causes ice maker to fill up replace ice maker again.
