Could be a bad preamp cable (the cable that goes from the machine to the actual sensor), bad sensor or you could be using the wrong cable/sensor for your machine. Even if all the pint line up for the connecters it may still fail. If you give me the serial number for your system and tell me if it is Masimo or Nellcor I can provide the right part numbers for the correct cable. At least you will have that as a starting point.

What is an error code 7?

On this model of SpO2 monitor from Medline, the "err 7" means the sensor has reached its end of life functionality... Basically it means it is time to buy another SpO2 monitor. I have a dozen of these in a rehab facility and have to swap them out every couple of years when I get this error code. I found this out a few years ago from Medline Support. This is why the warranty is 2 years (works out well that way, don't you think?). Hope that helps out some.. sorry for the bad news...Thanks!Stan Skaggs

My Omron blood pressure monitor does not give me a correct reading. It is about 20 point higher than is should be when compared with a professional monitor. Can my monitor be re-calibrated to read the...

BEFORE TAKING THE READING DONT USE IT BEFORE COMING UP FROM STEPS OR SUDDENLY WALKING AND TAKING READING
IF YOU TAKE READING IT WILL COME HAZARDIOUS
SIMPLY RELAX FOR 10 MINUTES AND STAY CALM WITHOUT TALKING
AND FOLLOW AS PER MANUALS TO TAKE READING

My husband took his blood pressure and an E appeared for Sys reading. We could not get it to operate correctly. Why?

E appeared because the monitor was not able to read his blood pressure. I have the same problem myself if I take my blood pressure after sitting down for a while because my pulse rate is 40 beats per minute and the monitor is set to expect a higher reading. If his pulse rate is too low the monitor thinks it's not reading it properly.

It could also be unable to read his blood pressure because the sensor was not pressed against his pulse. Try moving it around a little. Also it's a good idea to check the monitor on a second person as there could be a fault in the monitor itself.

I hope this helps.

My wrist cuff monitor seems to be reading low. Is there a way to get it checked or calibrated?

The next time you go to your doctor, take the wrist cuff monitor with you. As they always do, the nurse or doctor will check you vital signs. After they do that and they've told you what your blood pressure and pulse readings are, correctly place the cuff monitor on your wrist and check you BP and Pulse with it. Compare the reading from the cuff monitor to what your doctor got. If it's within a few points, it's no big deal. If it's way off, than there's a problem with the cuff.

Remember, whenever using a cuff monitor, always keep your wrist at heart level for the most accurate reading. Once it's activated, remain completely still and don't move your wrist, until it has finished cycling.

How to check youself / blood pressure for accuracy i get to different reading the first time then upon checking for accuracy the second time the reading is always different

Hello Dear

All Digital equipments vary in its reading. To get the accurate reading take three readings one after the other and then the average of the reading is the accurate one.
Usually the readings varies plus minus 2 or 3 to the accurate reading.

Hope the answer will help, please rate the answer.
Best wishes

The systolic pressure reads high in comparison to other monitors and physicians readings.

After working in the healthcare field for a while, I never trust automatic blood pressure cuffs or machines. They usually always give a high reading, I usually check with a manual reading after getting a high reading from a automatic reading.

Wide variability in readings taken within a ten-minute span on same patient. From 122/95 to 104/55 same patient, different arms. Patient being monitored for hypotension.

Time between readings must be enough to allow circulation in the arm reaches steady state again, or else if readings are close to each other, each subsequent reading is lower than preceding ones due to previous pressing the arteries and limiting blood circulation. 5 min is good enough time between readings and averaging. Massage the arm before next reading.
