Question about Insignia D300a PC Desktop

1 Answer

Tool bar for "Outlook Express" is not visable.

I have tried to access it through the "File Edit View Favorites Tools Help, pull downs, but none of those have tool bar with them. I have always had the tool bars with Outlook Express, but today it is not there.

I am trying to connect a new laptop to my home network. The wireless connection indicates that it is connected to the internet, but i canno get to the internet. I have statically assigned an IP like...

Internet explorer... Under the address bar you should see "file, view edit, favorites, tools and help" click on tools, internet options and go to the connections tab. make sure you have nothing in the white box then click on LAN settings. I bet you have "proxy settings" checked. None of the boxes should be checked.

E mail

Ok so this is not a problem with your router. Outlook express by default turns off this feature to help protect form virus's. To turn is on do the following.

1. open outlook express

2. at the top is says "file" "edit" "view" "tools" "message" "help" click on "tools"

3. in the drop down menu displayed after clicking "tools" select options.

4. in the options menu click on the "read" tab

5. make sure that there is no check mark in the box next to "read all messages in plain text" if there is remove it.

6. click on the "send" tab

7. near the bottom it says "mail sending format" make sure HTML is selected.

this should solve it but if not post back and we can try some other things.
