After upgrading RAM 1G to 1.5G

I have just replaced my 512 removable RAM card for a 1G in my Acer Aspire One AOA 150-1283 for a total 1.5G (has a 512 non removable) do I have to do anything other than install the card? The memory shows its there and computer runs great! Does it just know its been upgraded? I was told I might have to do something with BIOS?? THANKS

You should be good to go, if you had the wrong memory mod the machine would probably just blink or beep at you. If you experience blue screen errors or virtual memory errors this could be a sign of incompatibility but I would say you're probably fine.

The BIOS will recognize the new ram when the pc is turned on. If the amount is being reported correctly and there are no beeps you are good to go.

SOURCE: Ram upgaded 1G to 1.5G

Hit start, control panel, system, device manager, and look under 'General" on the main screen, it should say right there the processor and ram type and size. If its not listed click on the hardware tab, go down to the memory, and click on memory/ram, it will be listed there. If it isn't showing or showing is showing he wrong speed, then go into the bios, by rebooting and selecting the delete key. If it shows under the memory speed, that it is the wrong speed, just click on that entry using the arrows esc, and enter keys to navigate the bios program. Highlight it and hit enter, select the proper speed ,hit f 10, and enter to get out of the bios menu. That should set the proper speed if it wasn't correct, good luck, you already did the hard part.

I tried to upgrade my acer aspire one A150 to a 2 GB stick of ram - didn't work so reinstalled the 512 stick I had (SHOULD be a total of 1 mb counting the 512 onboard.) It is NOW only recognizing 512. ...

Try swapping the ram sticks with each other and see if it still reports 512. If it does...then it sounds like you damaged one of the seats for the RAM somehow. Did you have any static shocks occur?

I cont play 3d games graphic card is there in acer aspire 4720z

* The system configuration of Acer Aspire 4720Z PC Notebook is :

160 GB or larger hard disk drive / 5-in-1 card reader / 512 MB or 1GB DDR2 533 MHz DIMM module / Intel Pentium dual-core mobile processor technology T2310 (1 MB L2 cache, 1.46, 533 MHz FSB), Mobile Intel GL960 Express Graphics Chipset.

* Your system have "Mobile Intel GL960 Express Graphics Chipset" graphics accelerator card embedded in the motherboard. Like most of the laptops/notebooks, there is no room for upgrading the graphics card in the motherboard!

* But you can upgrade the RAM upto 2 GB using two DDR2 DIMM memory modules.

* If you want to play 3D games with better performance, switch to Windows XP SP2 and upgrade the RAM!

* If you want to upgrade the memory (RAM), you can check this site : http://www.laptoppartsexpert.com/c-60093-acer-aspire-4720-series-as4720z.html

please rate this advice if it helps

I have Acer laptop Aspire 5570z module Zr1 with memory 1GB I want to increase memory 2GB or 3GB Is it possible or not What will be the expenditure?

Your laptop's RAM is upgradeable to up to 4 GB using two DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM modules.

So your upgrade options here are:
1. Buy a 1 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 2 GB (Price around US$ 25).
2. Buy a 2 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 3 GB (Price around US$ 45).

Acer Aspire One AOA 105-1049 Would like to upgrade memory. What do I need.

your laptop comes with 1g of (DDR2 SDRAM)
( DDR2 SDRAM - 533 MHz SO DIMM 200-pin)
so you will need any
DDR2 SDRAM - 533 MHz SO DIMM 200-pin ram.

the pin is very important. and it has to be notebook ram.

how ever the bad news is your laptop bored will only support going up to 1.5g

so sticking a 512mb in your gona lose part of it, as well you take the chance of making your system unstable. Below is a link of what your looking for.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=DDR2+SDRAM+-+533+MHz+SO+DIMM+200-pin%29&x=10&y=29

for the added performance on updating your ram your not going to get your money worth. I just recommend saving your money.

please rate this and mark it fixya if it has helped.

Crucial's website says your computer will hold up to 2GB max. There are 2 slots. Also says you can mix sizes.

Here is their link for additional info.

OS won't work with RAM upgrade

Hi !
if u wanna upgrade RAM ,ur RAM should be of same capacity in both slot. i mean to say if u wanna use 1 GB....then put 512 & 512 or else put single 1 GB. But u cant use 512 in one slot & 1 GB in another slot at a time. if u do the combination like that ,it will never work.

RAM ON acer computers

Yes... just need to purchase the right stuff.

You need to determine if you have DDR or DDRII. And then determine if you have one stick of 512, or if you have 2 sticks of 256. Once you know this information, visit your local Best Buy or purchase somewhere online, a memory upgrade. Such as 2 sticks at 512mb for 1 gig total. Assuming you have two memory slots, should have anyway.

DDRII is fairly cheap right now, be a good time to upgrade. DDR on the other hand, is still a little more expensive.
