Question about Schwinn Bicycles

My Schwinn 230 Recumbent bike makes a clanking noise during every revolution - Schwinn CS suggested removing & re-attaching pedals. I did & it didn't help. Seems to be coming from under the shroud. What next?

Try the bearings.

My Schwinn 230 is also making a clanking sound. I believe it is the bearing in the crank. I've never replaced it before and I'm wondering if there is a tutorial anywhere that someone could point me to. Thanks for any help.

Noise might be coming from where pedal crank is attached to axle. I had a squeak rather than clank. Remove pedal. Use a 14mm bicycle crank arm puller to remove crank arm. Lubricate with greese. Reattach and try again. If the clank is due to excessive ware on the crank arm, replace it.

New Balance 6100 Recumbent Bike making a clanking noise when pedaling

I have done a tremendous amount of research on this problem. New Balance (Fitness Quest) is out of business as of late 2012 and no parts are available. The main bearing or crank bearing set is 100% compatible with Proform part number 295560. Since New Balance put their name on this product, they have stated they will reimburse customers for the repairs.

My pedals are squeaking while pedaling on my Schwinn 240 recumbent exercise bike, can I use WD40?

i cannot see any problems with wd40 on any bike and have used it myself for many years.
just wipe away any excess, and do not spray it on the pedal tops (where your shoes go) as they may get slippery.

light oil (3in1 or simillar) is also excellent on bikes instead of wd40. same advice as above.

i find wd40 works faster, especially on squeaks, but oil works for longer.
i usually use wd40 first to cure the imediate noise, and then use a few drops of the oil to keep it quiet for longer.

hope this helps

Schwinn 201 recumbent bike makes clicking noise

Check the tightness of the crank bearings, also the crank fastening nuts (on axle) If its the gears you may have to turn the screws on the rear derailleur to adjust the tracking. The same as the front. Your question is kind of vague so its hard to pinpoint the clicking noise. Could even be a stone in the tire??lol

There are most likely some sort of bearings inside the wheel hub that are causing this.
