The FM radio on that player is unusually weak. You will probably only be able to get reception outside. It is not actually a volume issue - that player just has weak reception and is very sensitive to interference.

Well, I certainly blew that one. I found some more pertinent information:
1) Go into the settings menu, go to FM settings, and make sure the FM Region is set for United States. If you are outside the US, change it to "World"
2) The radio might initially be set for Pause - to test this, turn to a specific radio station that you know you get, and press up on the clickwheel. The "block" icon underneath the radio station should now change to a play arrow, if indeed it was on pause.
I worked for an mp3 manufacturer, and not all of the models had FM players that worked in the United States, so when the Sansa Clip didn't get radio, I assumed that my Clip was the same way. Thanks to your information, I was actually able to fix the FM radio on my own Sansa Clip.
Thanks for the alert!

I have a second clip player and it plays fm stations when this one can't; so, there must be another problem.
Thanks for your response.
The player was in pause mode.
Thanks very much for your help.
