You may find that the needle is bent. or maybe the machine needs a cleaning I use canned air for this it blows the lint out so nicely . if this is a new machine then take it back to where you bought it and see what they can do.

Skip stiches

Changing the needle may be helpful. A bent/damaged needle will tend to not pick up the bobbin thread properly.

Try a different type of thread--avoid old or bargain bin threads.

Could also be an incompatibility of the needle, thread, and fabric.

If it still skips stitches, then it may have a needle/hook timing issue that would require service.

Thread tension will not adjust.

Check your setting, you have your stitches set too far apart. Wherever on your machine you see the zigzag stich you will see other stich settings, look at it until you see the right amount of stiches you want.

My singer sewing machine model # 774 will not produce a lower stich that is not all jumbled on the underside of the fabric. The upper stich is fine, it's the bobbin stich that comes out all jumbled. ...

My machine is a designer 2 but I encounterd a problem with my stich getting all tangled. tryed to clean the bobbin case and under, stich is still tangling bad.

Be absolutely sure that the machine is threaded correctly, with the upper thread clicked into the tension discs (the presser foot MUST be raised when you thread so the tensions discs are open to receive the thread) and bobbin thread clicked into the bobbin tension slot. Change the needle - a bent or blunt needle can cause tangles. Hold onto the thread tails for two or three stitches when you first start sewing to avoid them being drawn down under the fabric and making a mess.

I HAVE Kenmore 385 165 24 bobbin case is loose and I can not get even one stich. Do I miss a srew to hold it in a place? Thanks for help.

if the bobbin case is loose and pops out when started. it is not inserted correctly

make sure you hold the clasp when inserting case and hear the slick into place

make sure upper thread is threaded right and the bobbin thread is even

bring bobbin thread up and pull both threads to the back about fou inches

hold threads and stich a few stiches by hand or foot pedal befor letting fo of the thread.

Top thread is loose

Your needle thread tension is too tight or the bobbin tension is too loose. If it is the latter try turning the bobbin case tension adjusting screw clockwise abot a full revolution.
If that does not work there is more than likely a bit of lint behind the tension spring, so carefully remove it and clean it out.

Singer advance 7422

My Singer 7422 seems to be jammed. When I start to make a stitch, the thread from the needle gets caught on something on the bottom and the thread goes over the bobbin.
