Question about Hobart Dishwashers

1 Answer

We have a Hobart dish washer in our bar area and when it sits over night there is a pool of water on the floor in the morning. When we open the door and look at the upper right corner in the rear of the machine we have a steady flow of water running down the rear wall. When looking at thge machine where the black 1 inch water hose comes up from the floor there is a plastic T in the line with an electric wire the goes into the side of the T. I am guessing tha that is a sensor valve that is supposed to close when the machine doesn't ask for water, and the valve may be pluged with rust or calcium. The wire has a pull apart connector that would allow me to remove the valve easily. Is tha something that I could do myself and check the valve for trash, or clean it and in some way test it to make sure that it is working. At this time I do not have the model name or the serial number with me. It is an older unit and we can slide it out from under the bar.

The model is most likley a lx18,lx30,lx40.The fill solenoid valve is stuck open.Remove the 2 screws on the bottom front where the pressure gauge is.Turn the circuit breaker off. When you remove the cover you will see a bronze valve with a red hose going to the booster.Turn the water supply off.Remove the red hose--water will come out and is normal---remove 2 nuts that the valve braket attaches to the booster, remove the 2 wires on the valve and pull the whole assy. out towards you.Take the valve apart and clean see if it works,if not you need a repair kit.Part # 271838 or 290336 hobart numbers.I'm a hobart tech---let me know.

Dishes not cleaning after full cycle running

Your screens are plugged with food residue in the bottom of the unit. clean it out. You can use 1 gallon of white vinegar for your wash after you clean the screens. Start your washer to fill with water but after the water starts, open your door and pore all of the gallon in the unit. Let it now run for 4 minutes and stop it by opening the door. Leave the door slightly open for 1 hour. close the door and let the cycle continue for 4 more minutes. open the door and repeat it a couple of more times. Let it sit all night with the vinegar in it and in the morning - close the door and let the cycle continue to the end. This should help soften and clean out the food particles in the unit. You can repeat the process and get a better cleaning then too. All the scale should be off your dishes now.

You don't need to use regular dish detergent. Use dish washer detergent. Check seal around door also.

What type of dishwasher do you have? Has your kitchen floor flooded? If it has. The tray under dish washer isn't water tight. Moisture creates some unusual problems. Some of newer dish washer the there control panel under the top of door this also create problem especially if the switches are on the top of the door. Another moisture problem. I have repaired a new Electrolux dish was three times in less than 6 months. The floor would flood from the Maytag side load washing machine. The Madam of the house didn't tell me that the washing machine flooded the kitchen floor. No window in the door and sometime fill water solenoid would stick and fill the tube. When they open washing machine door, 12 gallons of water would spill. So I fix both of them. GB...stewbison

I went to take out my dishes out of the dishwasher this morning and the tablet was sitting at the bottom of the machine half disolved and most of my dishes weren't washed properly. What is the problem?

1. Check that water enters dishwasher.
2. Check that water is heated, tablet door will then open, this allows the propellor to shoot hot water at tablet to dissolve.

Hi,
The pump seal may be the problem. There are a number of places on the net where you can get step by steps and the the parts to replace the seal. Some recommend just getting a new motor pump housing which is 150. I just purchased the impeller assembly (it has all you need) and it cost $25 with shipping. Only thing is I did not realize I also had a leak in the solenoid stem valve. Let me know if you need the link I was talking about.

Hobart LX 30 P2 Error and unit overflowing!

Hi drogers77,

I'm not a Hobart technician, but here what I founded in my manual for the LX30 error message:

LX18 / LX30 display shows E0, E2, E3 or E4

1. Low water pressure - check for clogged hose strainer; check that site water pressure meets minimum flow pressures.

2. Make sure probes are clean

3. No water pressure - main water supply valves may not be working

4. Drain valve open - turn machine OFF to drain machine, then ON. Repeat twice (this assists in clearing any drain valve obstructions). Wait for machine to reach READY mode and press WASH. Slowly open door several seconds later and note water level. Close door; 30 seconds later, open door slowly and check that water level is the same as it was. If not, repeat the OFF-ON procedure. If problem persists, call your local Hobart Service Office.

5. Delime machine.

Hope it will help you.

Dish washer over filling?

The first thing you should do is clean the level probes in the unit. There are two probes sticking through the back of the unit and the water completes a circuit between these two telling the machine when it is full. If they are clean, you may have a faulty sensor or wiring.

I guess I didn't understand your statement of the problem. If you know that the washer has gone through an entire cycle, and it is time to take out the RINSED dishes, yet the washer turns on when you do this, play with the door interlock and the door handle switches. If the cycle seems to have stopped, but you timed it from the beginning of a new cycle and it hasn't done all the steps, and it sprays when you open the door, then you may want to remove the timer motor and clean the contacts/ check for tine damage along with checking the door switches.

Dish washer will not fill with water

First I'll check is there any power to the water inlet valve item #19 if there is power then the water inlet valve is defective, if there is no power check the door magnet Item # 13 I found the magnet itself got loose inside the plastic housing and cause the problem as the door is not closing at all. If you need further help please email me at dickson@lau.com
God Bless have a nice day. Dickson
