Despite the hardwood floors, Hepa air cleaner and windows that are never
opened, I still have a problem with dust accumulation in my home office
(where I work for 10+ hours a day). What is the consensus on the best
choice for an air cleaner that will mostly eliminate dust and pollen?
Thanks!

Neal, you've taken some great steps but you need to take things a little
further. With the way you state the problem, no air cleaner in the world
will help. Obviously, the dust must be coming from somewhere. The trick is
to find where it's coming from and deal with it at the source.
I've been selling air cleaners for over 11 years now, and yours is not an
unusual problem. Usually, if you can find the source of the problem, you
quite often find you won't need an air cleaner.
Look at things like; what type of heating/air-conditioning system do you
have? Are the ducts clean? Have you got a good filter installed at the
furnace? Do you have pets? Plants? Many visitors in and out of your
office during the day? Is your clothes dryer properly vented to the
outside? Do you use a central vac, or at least a HEPA-filtered vacuum
cleaner? Are there lots of dust-collecting books and/or papers in your
office? How's the weatherstripping around your windows and doors? Does
your house have an air exchanger?
If you're working 10 hours a day, you probably don't want to put a lot of
time into investingating the source of the problem. But, trust me, it's
worth putting the time into it. Good luck.
Garth.
