which says that the unit defaults to an "automatic" address (i.e., it's a DHCP client). If that's true, then you would have to set up the AP on a network that already has a DHCP server, such as on the LAN side of a wireless router. Apparently there is also a configuration utility that doesn't depend on the IP address, and can be downloaded from USR. See the product page at http://www.usr.com/support/product-template.asp?prod=5450

I don't know what you mean about 'so that default ip address is require', however to access your router/access point, the default address should be 192.168.0.1 for your routers configuration site, which you would type into your internet browser (internet explorer).
If it is not set at 192.168.0.1 for any reason, go to start>run>cmd and then OK. In the command prompt, type in "ipconfig". It will list you some addresses, Default Gateway would be the address to your router settings, enter that one into your browser.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

It is possible that USR is using mAC filtering as a form of security. Your new Compaq adapter has a MAC address. You can try getting the mac address of this device and input this on the USR
