Sansa e280 not starting - SanDisk Sansa E280 MP3 Player

Sansa e280 will not start beyond the "Sansa Screen". It eventually will display verticle lines. PC does not reconize the player so there is no access to the device.

Why is there no 'reset" button?

Try pushing and holding the power button down for a minute, this may reset it, if not take out the battery from the back via 4 small phillips screws, and keep it out for at least 30 seconds than put it back and see what happens, these are replacable if needed from Amazon for short money.

if you are sure it's charged , try this on the back of the unit there are 4 screws take them out , remove the back cover and take the battery out for a minute then put it back in, see if this works, if not it may be dead you can buy these from Amazon for short money

If you have tried the resetting procedure and it does not work your battery may be dead, you can buy one from Amazon for a small amount of money and replace it yourself.
