Pc clean up

I already ran the disk clean up and defragmented my labtop, but could there still be useless folders in my computer? Is there a program that will track and get rid of all the useless stuff in my notrbook?

What "useless stuff"? If your talking about programs that you don't use or need, you need to uninstall those. There are registry cleaning tools, but you want to take care when messing with your system's registry. There are clone removing tools for deleting duplicate files...

What type of vehicle? Most newer vehicles are controlled/monitored by the computer. Spark plugs are designed to last 160000km on most vehicles. A lot of newer vehicles do not have much of anything to change tune-up wise these days. Fuel filters are in the tank in most vehicles. Need year make and model as well as mileage to point you in the right direction

My computer is unresponsive or very slow nearly all the time now

When was the last time you ran disk clean up, scanned your pc for spyware and virus and finally defragmented the disks. Doing all three of these could have a big impact on the speed of it. Run all three in the order above.

How to clean windows folder in xp sp3

You can use CCleaner. This software is very handy and removes the junk and useless filesfrom your system. You can also defrag your Drive C. Simply right click on drive c, Properties>Tools>Defragment now...>Defragment.
Hope this helped :)

Pc matic and laptop problems

Hi There,
What version of windows are you running? Is this a purchased, legal copy of PC matic? Are you running this in any kind of compatability mode?

Generally programs like this - that claim to "speed up your PC" and "clean out useless clutter" Are fairly benign and useless themselves. All the tricks and tips these programs do are already available on your computer through the computer management tool as well as the "clean up disk space" tool.

Improve performance by defragmenting your hard disk

Fragmentation makes your hard disk do extra work that can slow down your computer. Removable storage devices such as USB flash drives can also become fragmented. Disk Defragmenter rearranges fragmented data so your disks and drives can work more efficiently. Disk Defragmenter runs on a schedule, but you can also analyze and defragment your disks and drives manually. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. ?id=microsoft.windows.resources.shellexecutetopiciconClick to open Disk Defragmenter.

  2. Under Current status, select the disk you want to defragment.

  3. To determine if the disk needs to be defragmented or not, click Analyze disk. ?id=18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Once Windows is finished analyzing the disk, you can check the percentage of fragmentation on the disk in the Last Run column. If the number is above 10%, you should defragment the disk.

  4. Click Defragment disk. ?id=18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Disk Defragmenter might take from several minutes to a few hours to finish, depending on the size and degree of fragmentation of your hard disk. You can still use your computer during the defragmentation process.
Notes

  • If the disk is already in exclusive use by another program, or if the disk is formatted using a file system other than NTFS file system, FAT, or FAT32, it can't be defragmented.

  • Network locations can't be defragmented.

  • If a disk that you're expecting to see under Current status is not showing up there, it might be because it contains an error. You should try to repair the disk first, then return to Disk Defragmenter to try again. See Check your hard disk for errors for more information.

also "hibernate" the computer instead of "shut down"

Uninstall everything that you don't use anymore. Otherwise it is just going to be slow.

My 5633 acer keeps coming up low disk space on c how can I solve this

uninstall & delete any unused programs. Empty the recycle bin,run disk clean-up from system tools. Defragment the drive. If that doesn't help,I'd start looking into a new hard drive.

Computer takes longer to boot up, plus is running very slow

1. To increase PC boot speed:
There must be too many programs automatically start when you boot your PC. To manage them, click Run, type in "msconfig", select "Boot", then you can disable unnecessary programs from that list.

2. To increase PC running speed:
* Adding RAM is the most effective method, but if the RAM is already at the maximum, then do the following.
* Run disk cleanup and defragmenter. But to be honest, the built-in Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter run quite slow and they will take you quite a long time, so I never use them. Third-party programs are better.
* Run registry optimizer software and defrag. No Windows built-in tools to do this. Search on google or refer to this free registry cleaner review.

I ran my norton diagnostic test and it said my CPU was running slow. I noticed that my mouse cursor was moving slow... *sigh* what can I do for my CPU? Can I upgrade my Dell Inspiron 9300? Thank you

first i would get rid of norton. norton takes up too much resources . and also it takes too much control of your computer. do a disk clean up and a disk defrag. that will clean up ur computer .
go to start then all programs then acessories then system tools then disk clean up. if you notice disk defrag is there also. so is system restore and system information system information tells you everything about your computer. and system restore , restores your computer to an earlier date.
i hope this information was helpful.

My computer is filling up

defrag you HDD, that is one of the best simple solutions you may be able to do.

open my computer

right click on your local drive (C:)

then click properties

click tools then select disk defragment

then click on defrag now

on vista all you have to do is click on defrag now, on XP you will have to see the status first, then defrag.

on XP if the colors you see are separated, you really have to defrag, this will take at least an hour, depending on the status of your HDD.
