You have no video signal. A couple things to check are...

    1) Your video card. Is it seated in the slot properly? Is the cable connected securely? Any bent pins?

    2) Make sure your RAM modules are also securely installed.

Monitor says no signal....its always worked before, what could be the problem

No signal means that there is no communication between the computer and the monitor. Check to make sure that the cables that goes into the computer is in snuggly and also that the cables that go into the monitor are in snuggly. If the computer sounds like it is working properly (lights on, you hear fans blowing and hard drive spinning) then your problem is either that the monitor is bad or the VGA (Video) Card inside the computer is bad. If you have access to another monitor try plugging it into the computer, if it works you know that your other monitor is bad. If it does not work your Video card needs to be replaced. I turn on my Laptop and the fan will spin and the Hard disk light will turn on as well as the power light (obviously) But the Hard drive doesnt spin up and the screen stays blank no lights no nothing i...

Remove all of the ram, turn the laptop on if it does not beep you have a bad motherboard. If it beeps replace the memory and remove the hard drive turn on the laptop and see if it posts. If it posts without the hard drive then the hard drive is bad. Otherwise it is probably still a bad motherboard.

So practically the pc starts but you don't have any image. Try using another monitor and another video card - one of them is dead.

Desktop will not boot into bios No Usb power;monitor ''No Signal''

Your problem is the memory . YOu have to put off the pc and remove the memory card in the slot. Then clean the silver pins in your memory with a rubber eraser. Put it back and see if the BIOS will be prompted on the screen , if not you have to replace the memory.

When I push the power button, the lights flash and the fan starts but nothing else happens. I tried to put in a bootable CD...nothing. It seems like it don't even get to the bios.

Please check your RAM first. Clean your RAMs and try booting again. Still if you are facing the problem then it would b the hard drive issue.

Cannot access western digital 120gb hard drive

I have heard about WD portables doing this ...I believe the problem is that the read head (like a record player stylus) gets "stuck" and doesn't begin scanning the index table at the beginning of the drive, thereby not showing any drive contents.

Nutshell version...if you've tried the same drive on 2 different machines, the drive is dead. Your best bet: contact WD and let them know. They are (in all the years I've dealt with them) VERY good about supporting their products, even sometimes after they've gone out of warranty.

hope this helps ;)
