In the setup part for parental control, when it asks for the password..enter 0711 ( twice ) it will probably say incorrect password after the first attempt, do it again....This is the default code and sequence for Philips/Magnavox in 90% of there sets. Let me know and good luck.

If this model has that the owner manual (google model number with manual if you do not have it) should tell you how to reset the code or remove it)

Failing that Sony Customer service has some pretty sharp people and on the phone will talk you thru the process---usually requires the Sony remote.

Hi, we have a dim darkish orange screen that is pretty dark... we bought this tv from an auction (at which they stated it all worked properly, which i was skeptical but dont think that this is "working...

Over time your blue CRT in the back of your set develops a fungal growth that covers up the glass and prevents light from shining through clean this off with a cloth dampend with waterd down bleach. While you're in the back of the set clean all 3 of the tubes of with this solution. After that wipe the back of the screen off with a dry cloth. Wipe the delfection screen of as well this is the screen that is diagonal to your front screen it actually deflects light to the back of the screen you watch. These can become very dusty over time and block light. This should fix your problem. If it doesn't the fluid in your 3 cathode ray tubes is cloudy and will have to be changed by a tech.

Is it possible that dust or age has hazed the lamp and or mirrors and cleaning would improve the picture?

Well, yes. Dust blocks light and will tend to make the image fuzzy if there is buildup. If you clean the optics or anything, Do NOT touch the lamp. Oil or other things will weaken the Quartz and it will burn out very quickly. If you do accidentally touch the lamp, wipe it thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry. Follow any cleaning instructions that may be listed in the manual

Good morning, I need to clean inside of my Toshiba 50A60 model tv screen, I do you remove screen?

Yes I Had The Same problem , if your handy with fixing things this will
work.
Step 1- unplug the TV from wall socket
Step 2- disconnect all devices like VCR's DVD Players from the TV
Step 3- remove the speaker covers from the TV
Step 4 - There are 14 screws on front cover, remove these with a
Philips driver, set cover aside
clean with soft brush and wash with water
Step 5- Gently raise the cover straight up to release it from its supports
Once cleared from supports , remove the cover.

Tips- Make sure you don't scratch any of the screens or CRTs

You can clean the mirror with any glass cleaner, make sure to wipe it
clean , water and vinegar does a good job to eliminate streaks.

Use a soft duster to clean the dust from the circut boards
Tip - Remember take it easy when cleaning

When your finished cleaning, just reverse the steps

It Worked for Me
