We had this problem. I unplugged the unit, removed the top cover, and found a bunch of 'crud' on the cam assembly that sits on top of the dispenser. That cam controls where the water goes -- prewash, soap, bleach, fabric softener.

So carefully clean up the crud if you have it too. I applied some silicone lubricant to the shaft with the 'pointer' where it seemed to be binding. I don't know if silicone lubricant is recommended, or if it will cause any damage over time, but the parts looked to be a dense plastic, and I figured it would be OK.

With a bit of manual exercising after the clean and spray, the pointer was freed up so it again had full travel from I to IV as the machine cycled.

Plug off the wall first. Possible your inlet hose to the dispenser is clogged or something. Open up the top to examine the pipes; while you are at it see that all debris are removed, clean the fine meshes, refit carefully. Pressure from the wall faucet should be good.

Click on troubleshooting in blue above for further multifold solutions. Good luck.........

Dark clothes have lint left on them. what could help this problem?

Are you sure it is lint and not soap? My washer does this, and it looks like lint, but it is soap.
If it is lint, always keep the lint collector inside the agitator clean.

If it is soap, and this might work for lint:
1. Turn clothes, particularly black clothes, inside out.
2. Use a concentrated soap with little or no filler.
3. Use less soap than normal.
4. Fully dissolve soap before adding clothes.
5. Run rinse cycle again after completing full wash cycle.

GE Harmony top load washer: The soap tray when filled with liquid soap will not properly dispense the soap when the water is filling the machine and the soap tray remains full of water and soap at the end...

Hi
Dishwashers use Bi-Metal strip to allow the dispenser to open/close. This strip when heat up causes the soap door spring to open up the dispenser. If this strip is not heated doesn't allow the door to open. The strip may not be getting 120V or maybe disconnected. Newer (plastic liner) dishwashers use a wax motor to open the soap dispenser. The plunger inside the wax motor slowly moves and pushes the plunger and door open. And, if this wax motor doesn't receive 120 volts, then it'll not work. Please check the voltage to the wax motor/Bi-metal strip; also inspect the connections to these. Hope this helps...

Whirpool Duet - Soap not getting into wash cycle

O.K. Is the water draining out properly? If the filter is blocked then your washing will be churning in dirty water as the machine will drain for a maximum time then rinse etc. in the used water.

2 things will lead to soap not dissolving, first is cold water, so make sure you have hot enough water. second and more likely is the dispenser is not opening at the proper time , instead fully opens at end of cycle during the dry cycle never even getting wet, and washing dishes with no soap, id replace the dispenser or make sure your not stacking items in front of dispenser hindering the opening. also powder is best, tabs and gelpack put undo stress on the dispenser door not always allowing full operation...

Soap not fully dispensing

Good you have he soap, powder is not a good option and maybe there is too much. Liquid soap should be no more than 2 Tbls and softner 1 Tbls. These machines use 50 gallons less water than a top loader. If you soap is ok than you can inspect the dispenser. The top cover has three hex screws on the back, ones with a torx use a 9/32 and if not a 1/4 socket. after you pull this cover off, push back and then lift noting a catch is on the front behind the console for alignment at replacement, you will see a white box with a spring loaded cam attached to a arm with a motor under it. Check for lime deposits careful to not loose the spring. Start a cycle and observe for hang ups sometimes a drop of 3 in 1 oil at the dispenser side does wonders.

Dishwasher soap remains in the soap dispenser following the complete cycle. I have had the washer for a year and a half. The first year, no soap remained in the dispenser. Now about 1/8th of the soap...

Try cleaning the soap dispenser with white vinegar so that it is free of all detergent, then try using about 1/4 less detergent than you have been to see if you still have any remaining in the dispenser. Also, make sure your drain filter is free of all sediment so that the system can pump the water out freely. Lastly, if you are still getting some soap remains, then try using a sanitary setting that uses the hottest water and see if the excess soap is properly dispensed. Your water temp may not be getting hot enough so this test should help identofy the solution. Hope this helps !

Where's the soap going?

Clean the dispenser water hose ,stuck by liquid dried soup./ the hose going to washer was open during washing time so all soap loaded was gone /
During water refill if nothing water pass to soap dispenser the soap will remain intact / but in washing time all soap will directly washout dispose to drain hose without to clean clothes.

Dishwasher soap dispenser won't open during cycle

I had the same problem with my GE Adora. The dishes were getting cloudy and the soap dispenser would not open. Turns out the hard water deposits were causing the soap dispenser to stick shut. I purchased and used Dishwasher Magic which is a dishwasher cleaner designed to remove limescale, rust and buildup. I used as directed and now my dishes are sparkling and the soap dispenser pops right open.
