If the receiver shuts down after some time operating properly it is likely caused by a heat issue or crossed (shorted) speaker wires. Please make sure that the unit is adequately vented and the air vents/fan on the back of the receiver is clean. If it is then carefully check all of the speaker wires for cracks, damage, and/or crossed wires.

I have a yamaha htr 5630 and need to connect a microphone and use the yamaha htr 5630 as an amplifier. Can you tell me is this possible, and if yes, what kind of mic should I buy?

You can do it, you would just need a Pre-amp for the mic to work without major feedback. They range in price from 50 and up. An inexpensive PA system would be a better way to do this. You can find decent ones for personal use for under 300 that are well built and come with a mic. Check www.Zsounds.com, They have something for any price range. Hope this helps

How do I connect a Akai AP207 turntable to my Yamaha HTR 5630 receiver???

If you want to connect the turntable all you do is get an audio cable white and red on the end. Then hook one end to the back of the reciever and the other end to the same connectors on the turntable. Make sure its output on the turntable and input on the reciever. Good luck...

Htr 5630 shut off in 2 sec.

Sounds like you have a bad amp IC or transistors.
When these go bad they almost always put roughly 40 volts dc from the amp power supply to the speaker terminals. The protection circuit senses this dangerous (to your speakers) dc voltage and disconnects the speaker terminals from the amp via internal relays (the ones you hear click) and puts it into protect mode. If it didn't the dc voltage would quickly toast the voice coils of the connected speaker.
