Whirlpool dishwasher stops midcycle and control panel goes blank

I can't figure out where to find the model number on my dishwasher. It is a whirlpool and it was in the brand new house we bought in Aug '08!

The dishwasher starts fine and then it will just shut down. The lights won't shine at all on the front. Then when you open the door there is water standing in the bottom. When you shut the door the green light start/resume starts flashing again. You start it again and then it does the whole thing all over again.....please help. I hate the thought of replacing it. Thanks!

Model number is located on the tank where the door fits into. It is a label that is approx. 2 inches long and an inch wide on either the right or left hand side. You may have a blocked drain, or the control panel that is failing. A model number will definelty help diagnose.

I missed you comment that it was in your new house. I would call Whirlpool for service as it will be under warranty if the unit was installed between Mar 08 and now. To check door switches I use a multimeter and check for continuity and reaction.

I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner Two dishwasher. The rinse only light & quick wash light constantly blink and I can't run it, none of the buttons will work. Is there a way I can reset my dishwasher?

This generally means the control panel is no longer working and must be replaced. That's the entire plastic assembly at the top of the door, in which the buttons reside. Disconnect power first, remove screws inside the door which hold the panel in place. Unplug power connectors, remove circuit board control board. Find dishwasher model number and search parts for that model. The part is pricey, more than $100 last time I replaced mine. Install control board into new panel, make power connection. Reassemble door. Good to go.

Whirlpool du1055xtvq dishwasher stops starts frequently during wash cycle

This model can get broken solder joints in the control panel which causes it to stop randomly. It is a simple fix if you can use a soldering iron

Dishwasher stopped midcycle and the fuse is not tripped

Some dishwashers work the wire nuts loose in the connection box. Especially those that
are wired to aluminum wiring (these require the purple "IDEAL" brand wire nuts).
Make sure to secure power to unit before servicing.

No power going to front panel on whirlpool dishwasher gu2455xtsso

If the model number you listed this question under is correct, there is a thermal fuse (also known as a bi-metal) located inside the control panel of the dishwasher. The part number for the thermal fuse replacement is W10258275.

If you type in your model number you can utilize the exploded view parts diagrams at, or to assist you in locating the part. The fuse is listed as item 6 under the "Control Panel Parts" section.

To replace the fuse, follow these steps:

1. Make sure the dishwasher is unplugged or the breaker is turned off.

2. Open the door and remove only the top screws directly behind the control panel.

3. Remove the protective cover from back of the control panel to expose the main control board.

The thermal fuse should be mounted to the control board. If you remove it and take a resistance check, it should read close to 0 ohms, if good. If bad, replace as necessary.

If you have any questions about this repair, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.
