If your player cannot play a video then itis an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video fileto a format that your MP3 player uses.
There are commercial and freeware videoconverters on the Internet. Use Google to search for Video converters. I foundthese converters useful, Kate's Video converter, Any Video converter and CIVideo Converter.
I suggest you try some freeware typesfirst and convert a video file, then test this converted video file on your MP3player.
To copy/download your video files to yourMP3 player, connect the USB cable from the MP3 player to the USB port on thecomputer. Open the video folder on the MP3 player and copy and paste the videofile/s from the computer to the video folder on the MP3 player.
You can go to the coby website they have a zip file download with converter....Just download it and install.I find however that you may have some issues converting .avi files.I think its because avi is a container not really a formatt of such...so not all .avi files are the same.Try converting from .mov format ..That is Quicktimes format.
I had to recode or reconvert my downloaded youtube .flv video from .avi to .mov before the MTV Video converter would work right. The output file will be a .mtv file.So try using .mov files instead of .avi.
im using 4gb MP-705 and i kinda read through the guide thing and the first problem with the ur vids are that, if u sync with window media player the video files becomes WMV, but you want AVI so change it to AVI and drag the files to the coby directly by going into computer-coby blah and movies folder. I dunno about the MTP.BIN and WMPInfo.xml, but i tried everything i knew for making videos work, but in the end it didn't work. Just try the method with dragging and if it doesn't work i dun really know im stuck there. don't forget to converse the files with the small cd program
1. In Menu scroll down to Setup 2. In Setup scroll down to USB Mode 3. In USB Mode there are 2 settings MSC Mode & MTP Mode, check or highlight MSC Mode. This enables the PC to recognize the player as a removable Device or Drive. 4. Connect to PC via USB port/cable, the PC now reads the device as MP-C70X5 (E:) 5. In WIN Explorer click “Open to View Files”, on display will be 6 .DIR folders & a .xml file 6. Now launch the VideoConvert.exe (application file) located on the installation disk. 7. Click Input Video button (Browse to the folder containing .avi files) & select .avi file for .mtv conversion (if you want to save the .mtv file to a different destination folder click the folder icon to the right of the Video Output text box). 8. In Output Frame Size box check 176X144 (this is the max size for this device). 9. In Output Frame Rate box check Sports Video. 10. The Output Audio Quality box defaults to Good. 11. Click Start Conversion button. 12. The saved .mtv file can now be copied to the device by simply dragging from its destination folder or ctrl + C & ctrl + V to the MOVIE.DIR folder in WIN Explorer as per step 5. 13 The .mtv file is now saved to the device ready for viewing, however there is just one remaining small lissue which may a software glich or another hassle with this player, because when the video is playing, every 60 seconds in the background a womans voice exclaims what sounds like “Weeee Gamble” whatsup with that.
when you turn on you mp3 player go to setting and then to usb mode. it should be on MTP Mode (if you havnt changed anything) switch to the MSC Mode. Then go to my computer, click on your mp3 player picture, then drag and drop what ever video, picture, document you want. MAKE SURE YOU PUT IT IN THE RIGHT FOLDER!!!! then you are all set.
