It sounds as if you still have Carburetor problems.
Use
a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152), to
clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked.
(If there is a small screen in the Carb., this can get blocked too.
Make sure that it is clean as well.)
Reassemble and start. (If there is a small screen in the Carb., this can get blocked too. Make sure that it is clean as well.)
If the carb. parts are more than 4 years
old, you may have to replace them.
If you need further assistance
on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement
Just
let me know.

Find the engine number of your 5.5 HP engine and pass it on here. That way I can pass you the correct manual. Having said that... Remove the float bowl and clean the debris out of the bowl and the orifice in the threaded area where the bowl nut screw into. The orifice is blocked in the threaded area. You need to clean the pin hole out in the orifice. Break off a round toothpick and use the "BROKEN end" to clean the orifice while it is installed and some carb cleaner. DO NOT stick anything in the hole as it usually breaks off in the hole or expands the hole causing other problems.
Remove the fuel hose from the carb and make sure your getting fuel to the carb. Also make sure you see fuel flow into the bowl area with the float bowl removed.
Reassemble and test.... This should get your engine going again. If not... I need the engine model type and serial number to get the information you will need. Do not abreviate the numbers.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

I got to think there may be a loose connection in the ignition circuit. That is where I would be looking.
