I did undelete a voice file on my sansa 260. Go into settings on your sansa and make sure it is on usb instead of mtp mode. Then when you connect it to the computer it will see it the same an an external drive and you can run a restore program to recover the file. I used smart flash recovery (don't have to pay anything to restore just one file). It worked great.

dsignpro, THANK YOU! for 4 hours, I've been searching for a solution and I can't believe how much stupidity some write on these blogs/posts. They all talk about the same thing: use this utility over this other, but they all stop short at the real issue which you spelled out in a few simple instructions, and which made all of the difference in the world. Nobody else addressed the issue that you can't recover anything if your PC doesn't 1st recognize it as drive! The "trick" was to change the settings on the Sansa player for the USB connection to MSC INSTEAD OF MTP. When I came across this solution, I knew I would have no problem recovering the voice recording my wife had deleted in accident. Again, THANK YOU!

How do I recover a recording deleted accidentally from Sansa e250

It is possible to recover your lost recordings.

First things first: DO NOT take any more recordings with the MP3 that you want to recover records from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of recovery.

Then Connect the MP3 to your computer as it should appear as a "Removable Drive" or put the card in a card reader attached to your PC.

Next, if you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a data recovery utility that will recover your recordings with Wondershare Recovery Software from the following link:

Video Audio Photo Recovery (if you are running Windows OS)
Mac Data Recovery (from MacUpdate site)

Do NOT try & write anything back to your MP3 until you can recover your recordings safely!

MP3 Voice recording

When you deleted the voice recordings, you may have also deleted the key system file that allows the recorder to operate properly. Download the Sansa Firmware Updater for the c200 series from Sandisk's website, and see if it will reload a complete version of the firmware.

Deleting Voice Recordings off my Sandisk m230 512 mb

Yeah... Go to "My Computer," and select the player by right clicking and then hitting explore. You then need to hunt around in those folders till you find your recordings and then just highlight them and hit delete. If you can't find them, try starting over, then after you "explore," go to tools-->folder options-->view--> then turn on "view hidden folders" Hope this helps!

Deleting files from Sansa e250

The only way I know to delete music files or voice or FM recordings, is straight from the User's manual on the CD: 1. Set the e250 to MSC mode. 2. Plug it in to your computer with the USB connector. 3. Open the Sansa e250 drive in My Computer and browse to the MUSIC folder (or RECORD folder)and delete the files there. (That's where you also add music files, by dragging from other explorer windows.) To delete (or add) photo and video files, you have to use the Media Converter, which you install from the disk that came with the e250.
