There is most likely a blockage in the pump. this is an easy fix. remove the lower front panel and u will see the pump at the end of the drain line. disconnect it and you will find a piece of glass or some other obstruction there. since the dishwasher has water in in u will want to remove the water first with a shop vac or a sponge.

Samsung dishwasher starts and after while stops with three lights cycles on (heavy , normal and quick)

I think that light combination means "Drain error". Most comonnly caused by something hard getting down into the drain pump, blocking or partially blocking the drain pump impeller or the check valve inside the drain hose right next to the drain pump.

My previously quiet Asko dishwasher now makes a lot of noise during draining cycles

Hello Beverly;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You did not provide a model number so I have to advise in general terms.

It sounds like your drain pump is struggling.

Clean your drain and/or drain filter. Wear gloves you may have broken glass or something sharp in your drain.

You garbage disposal line may be plugged.

Or you drain pump may be going bad (But, I do not really think so).

De longi dishwasher wont drain

I think you need to remove the drain pump and get the waste collected flushed out. Please check this link for tips to remove the pump and clean. Make sure you take care to switch off the power while working. Finally check for the level of the machine to be slightly inclined towards the drain outlet.

Dishwasher will not drain I think it:s the pump

It will help if you provide the make and model of dishwasher. There can be several reasons for dishwasher not draining. The most common is blocked filters or drain hose. Also ensure the kitchen side of drain is clear. If pump is running but making grinding sounds then something is blocking the drain pump. If you do not hear pump running sound then the dishwasher may not even be getting to the drain cycle for other reasons.

Questions about snaking the drain line for a Bosch SHU5305. Should I be able to snake all the way from the sink connection into the dishwasher or is there some type of backflow prevention or something...

I would NOT recommend you snake into your dishwasher because you could damage the drain pump.

If you think you have blockage, then take the unit out and disconnect the drain line and take it outside and use a hose on it.

Just remember to disconnect the power first.

My Dishlex Global 300 dishwasher stops mid cycle and the rinse light keeps flashing ?

Hi,
I think I had the same problem. I don't know much about dishwashers, but the "Flashing Rinse" has something to do with the drain, or the drain pump (which is why the water doesn't drain).

My dishwasher stopped its cycle, after having filled up with water, even though everything else worked fine, because the drain pump was not even turning on. So I guess, the first question I asked was, is the drain blocked? No. When this happened the first time, the flashing rinse cam up. After that, the dishwasher just wouldn't drain, and there was no longer a flashing rinse.

So then, I figured, the drain pump is probably rooted. The drain pump is found underneith the dishwasher, just behind the front panel on the left hand side. You'll need to remove the metal covers from the front and the left.

When this happened to me, I thought I'd need to buy a new pump, so I pulled the other one out (its a bit fiddly, you have to disconnect the two electrical wires, then remove the drain pipe from it, and then wiggle it off. But when I got it out, I unscrewed it (it has the special hexagonal screws, not phillips or flathead), and it turns out, a fairly large fruit seed had got into the drain pump and blocked it, preventing it from spinning. I put it back together again, and it worked.
It so far has beaten paying $100 for a new pump.

If you want a visual of what the drain pump looks like, look up the dishwasher part number #8905912, you should be able to find it on the internet. Hope this helps.

Water isnt draining

Check your drain line and/or drain pump. The drain line should have a high loop at the point prior to where it connects to your drainage system in order to prevent drain water from the kitchen sink from back flowing into the dishwasher. In addition, most drain pumps have a small check valve that prevents this water from backing up as well. However, if you have something lodged in the drain pump (i.e., a toothpick) it can prevent the check valve from closing properly. This can cause water to back up into the dishwasher. You mentioned that the water will not drain. Is the drain pumping runnings at all? Please post back and let me know.
