It simply comes up ERR if I am remembering correctly. I am at home at this time. I cannot remember any other message on the screen. ~ Cherie

I am at our store now, just tried it again, we are hitting cash tendered button and "E" comes up.

  • cherie_merce Feb 28, 2009

I do not recall seeing a button marked error.reset but I will call in tomorrow and ask them to look for one and push it.

We did have a four hour power outage last week, the machine ran fine after that for a day and then this began happening.

We are using the correct key.

What "mode" are you referring ?

Drawer is not locked as we are continuing to use the machine and the clerks are having to count out their own change instead of the machine telling them the correct change to give.

I have an online manual open at the moment... Have you tried pressing the C (C/AC) key?

  • Jackie Finch Feb 26, 2009

Next to the C (C/AC) key there should be an error reset key. If you push that and re-do the transaction, does that help?

There are several questions I would like to ask, please bear with me, as I'm certain that you've already done these steps...

    1) Has the unit had a power failure?

    2) Is the correct key inserted?

    3) Is the mode correct?

    4) Is the drawer locked?

There should be a reset lever on the bottom of the unit that you can use to open the drawer. I'm not sure if any of this helps, but I hope I saved you the $20 tech support charge :-)

By "mode" I meant "register" or "program" mode on the register. I think something went haywire after the power outage, so if you have new batteries for it, I'd try that. If that doesn't work, please call the tech support. Hope it works out!

It sounds like you have keyboard failure. This is a classic symptom when liquid has been spilled in it.

MY CASH REGISTER CASIO TE 2000 HAVE ERR MESSAGE 12 AND IS NOT IN ENGLISH I NEED TO CLEAR THIS ERR MESSAGE AND CHANGE THE LANGUAGE TO ENGLISH

Hi. Error 12 means you have run out of journal paper. replace the journal roll. The language can only be changed when the machine is fully cleared back to factory specs, then you must re-program it. It would be best to take it to a dealer if you are not confident. -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Turn key to Program mode

If someone has changed the labels on your keyboard or obscured the characters, there is a diagram in the manual under 'ENTERING CHARACTERS' 00 (double zero button) CASH (maybe labelled CA/AT) 232 SUBTOTAL Now type characters for second line 00 CASH 332 SUBTOTAL Now type characters for third line 00 CASH 432 SUBTOTAL Now type characters for fourth line 00 CASH SUBTOTAL
NOTE: You might have to do 2 receipt prints in REG mode to see the changes

Casio te-2400 cash register- making transactions

Try this: Turn key to program mode 0 CASH SUBTOTAL 3 SUBTOTAL 0 CASH SUBTOTAL
This should remove the preset amount from the CASH button. Now it should work normally when finishing the sale.
Now turn back to REG mode when entering the price, DO NOT use a decimal, so type 2000 for 20 dollars. Now press a PLU (item) button. SUBTOTAL Type the amount received (NO DECIMAL, so 5000 for 50 dollars) Press CASH Change should be displayed, and drawer open
