I which on my ps3 is loads up but online the wavy lines appear

Try resetting the ps3 by flipping the switch on and off and if that doesn't work, when turning it on with the touch button hold it down for 5 seconds to reset the display settings.

SAFE MODE:

1. Place you finger on the on/off sensor leave it their until you console turns off then take you finger off the sensor.

2. Place your finger back on the on/off sensor leave it their until you hear 2 consecutive beeps then take your finger off.

3. Once the safe mode screen comes on select the option PS3 SYSTEM RESTORE.

NOTE: A PS3 system restore will delete all data except the OS. I recommend backing up your console onto a USB flash drive if possible.

Ok, please try the following steps :

Step 1. Turn your PS3 off into standby (red light on)

Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep a total of 3 times and turn off again. Release the power button.

Step 3. Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, then 5 seconds later it will beep again and then it will beep twice quickly. Let go of the power button when you hear these 2 quick beeps.

Step 4. The PS3 will start up asking you to connect a controller via USB and press the PS button. Do this then continue to the next step

Step 5. The PS3 will load with a menu with 6 options, choose number 5 "Restore PS3 System" and follow the on screen prompts.

Using this method should sort your PS3 out for you.

hello try and reset it, press hold the standby button you will hear 1 beep the 2 short beeps after the short beeps release the button it should reset all the best

if the problem persists outside of the ps3, i'd say its time for a new tv. however if it doesnt you can try checking your video plug and make sure its still securely in there

You must be sure that disc are clean and free from fingerprints..this tends to affect background..! Also if you are not online.. you must plug into ethernet/broadband to "UPDATE" ps3 software at least once a week..! and any new games you buy also require Online updates..!

Your hard drive is bad. you need to replace it.

THE SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE TUNED,IT HAS LOST SOME MAIN MEMORY SOMETHING LIKE TEMP AMENSIA,TAKE TO A COMPUTER FIX PLACE AND TELL THEM TO CLEAN IT OUT...COST ABOUT 15 DOLLARS

Make sure the video out is set up proper for your tv/monitor
Also, your PS3 cable might be bad
Has anyone twisted it or dropped something on it?
