This model does not have a knob on the side.
There is only a locking lever on the front next to a single rotating wheel for height adjustments. To tilt the blade simply twist the locking lever to the left and push the height adjustment wheel to the right. It can be a bit stiff at times to move.

There is a lever that says tighten and loosen. you have to pull it out and loosen the housing then the blade will tilt.

Crank the blade up to its highest level using the knob on the side, then on the front of the saw loosen the lever and tilt the blade to whatever angle you want, using the gauge on the front as your guide. You can always go online to the Skil website and download a manual, or contact them about sending you one.

Blade is not square to table

There are manuals for the Skil 3400 available online.
Centering the blade to the table simply requires a screwdriver, a good square, and some patience. Basically you're loosening up the points that hold it vertically and horizontally (front to back), checking them against the table with your square, and then tightening them up when everything looks nice and ninety degrees.

It's not the best saw in the world, but with a little work, I've been able to get it to make 90 degree cuts and perfect miters with a miter sled and a cross-cut sled I built using aluminum (I think?) T-shaped replacement runners that would normally be used for the worthless miter guide that comes with it.

I have a delta 34-444 table saw, is it a right or left tilt, or how do i find out?

Left-tilt, right-tilt refers to the direction the top of the blade can be tilted when it is not straight up and down. There will be an indicator on the front of the saw, normally pointing to zero. When you adjust the blade away from zero, if it tilts to the left, it is a left-tilt saw.

I'm missing a ''tilt'' set screw on my Craftsman 10 inch table saw

I couldn't find that model Sears saw to confirm, but if yours is like mine (113.298720), then the handle on the right causes the saw trunion to swivel left and right. And there is a locking hex-head bolt on the front of the saw up close to the underside of the table. This bolt locks the trunion in place keeping it from swivelling.
Take a look at the following diagram http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/showSubComp.pd?imageUrl=http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/P0908018-00004.png part 22 is the shaft that tilts the blade Part 30 is the bolt that locks it in place part 29 is the handle part 28 is the spring that holds the handle on the locking bolt

I have a skill table saw model 3400 type 2. The

I would check to see that ID of the blade arbor matches the OD of the motor arbor, and you are not missing an adapter ring. Then I would get some acetone and a wire brush clean all surfaces where the blade seats. This is also good practice for Jacobs chucks on drills, that allow the drill bits to spin.

Skil saw motor runs but blade won't spin

you have a loose nut.  Let me explain...the nut and washer that holds the blade to the motor has worked loose.  You need to remove the plate around the blade to acess it and on the end of the blade is a large nut.  Tighten it with the power off.  Sometime there is a grove on the motor shaft to hold the motor or sometimes you need to put a screwdriver into the teeth of the blade to hold in place to tighten.
