Try the following:
While pressing the Vol-(volume down) button on the TV front panel, hold down the PIP button on the remote control at the same time for more
than 5 seconds. When the reset procedure is complete the following message will appear on the screen. "Lamp time was reset to 0".

I have a sony kdf-50e-2000 tv ...was cleaning it out earlier for dust..took the lamp out and cleaned around it..put the lamp back in and it came on for maybe 1 min.then shut down and red light is blinking...

Hi,

This is an error code for "lamp cover" and "lamp itself" not properly seat in to the housing. Re-install the lamp, make sure that all of the connectors are properly connected. Ensure that the lamp cover is attached securely or else the same symptoms will be encountered.

Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Replaced main bulb in front but lamp button on front of tv is still blinking and tv won't show picture

The lamp timer on the Hitachi projector must be reset whenever the lamp has been replaced. The "Lamp" indicator on the display will light red or the "Change the Lamp" message will display when the lamp timer needs to be reset. Hitachi recommends that the lamp timer never be reset without replacing the lamp and to always reset the timer when the lamp is replaced. The message functions of the projector will not function properly if the lamp timer is not correctly reset.

  • Turn the power on. Press the "Reset" button for three seconds until the "Lamp xxxx hr" message appears on the lamp timer on the bottom of the screen.

  • 2

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control while the lamp timer is displayed.

  • 3

Press the left arrow button. Select "0" and wait until the timer display clears.

Panasonic HDTV 1080i Lamp out Panasonic 1080i 42" HDTV - - saying "lamp needs to be replaced, reset lamp" - - what does this mean and how do I fix it??

If the lamp is actually out - replace it - if the lamp is still working just reset the lamp hours - at 10,000 hours it automatically says that but it is just the lamp time needing a reset.
