Question about Dell InspironTM 1501 Notebook

Open Question

"A disk error occurred during write operation." ?

So I have a Samsung Juke and its supposed to show the lyrics. It didn't show up but I realize that I'm supposed get the lyrics on the actual mp3 file. So what I do is I go to my mp3, right-click, properties, and click on the tab that says summary. I see a space next to lyrics (blank). So I go onto a site, copy and paste into the little space. I press OK.

"A disk error occurred during write operation."

This happens with almost all of my mp3s. Anyone know how to fix it? I use a Dell Inspiron 1501, XP SP3, if that helps.

It's not a problem with the hard drive, that's for sure. It's something with the music file. You will be able to see that if you move the file to a removable media or another hard drive you will most likely not be able to edit the properties. I don't know what the problem is though, just saying that the hard drive isn't bad. If you want a clarification, you said you had a Dell Computer. When booting up hit F12 and run Diagnostics. It should go through an auto set of diagnostics and then allow you to select what you want to run. Run full diagnostics on your hard drive. Any failure and you should replace the drive.

Error message when you try to install Windows Vista on computer that has...

This problem occurs because Windows Vista cannot distinguish between ambiguous hard disks.

In versions of Microsoft Windows Setup that are earlier than Windows Vista Setup, hard disks are marked with distinct values to distinguish them. However, this method of distinguishing hard disks is no longer supported because of the potential for data corruption on hard disks.

Do you have more than one hard drive connected to your computer?

If you have two hard drives, remove the second hard drive and continue with the installation.

If that does not work, try to format the C: drive while installing the Vista operating system.

You need to select the "format" option from "advanced" within Vista installation.

A Disk Read Error Occured. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart" Error. Just installed new WD 320 HD, formatted, installed winxp home edition and on reboot, the error above showed up. What's up?

Wow. That's no good. I'm sorry that happened! The real culprit isn't your hard drive my friend: Its most likely your IDE controller. Any time you have a known good drive and you have read errors, something's likely up with your south bridge which handles your SATA/IDE I/O operations. You may also have garbage showing up where the name of the drive should be in Windows and the BIOS. That's a surefire way to tell, but isn't always the case. Like a Samsung drive showing up as, "SAMWUNG$#".

Error : 10-FC12-0002 comes up during Toshiba system rocovery what does it mean and how do i fix it?

I download this from the Toshiba support site:
While running a full system recovery from the Recovery Media, the installation may fail -- and display one of the error messages listed below. Possible causes of these error conditions are listed at right. Use this list as a troubleshooting guide -- not as an absolute list of causes, as there may be others.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC10-1710" -- may be caused by a faulty hard drive.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC12-0241" -- may be caused by a faulty hard drive or defective memory.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC12-045D / 10-FC11-045D" -- may be caused by a faulty hard drive. *****
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC06-0002" -- may be caused by damaged recovery media or faulty hard drive.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC12-0970" -- may be caused by defective memory.
*for this error 10-FC12-045D u nid to call 1-800-457-7777 toshiba advance technical support they will send it to depot or they will recommend ASP (Authorized Service Partner)

I suppose your recovery disks could be bad. You can get another set from Toshiba. I'm also concerned about the health of the hard drive. Did you need to run recovery because the system crashed, because it may not have been an operating sysem crash but rather a hard drive crash. Have the harddrive or whole laptop checked by a reoutable repair person or check my website: www.micromendllc.com

Error 19

What manufacturer of laptop?
What model-number?
What Operating System?
When does the error occur:
* immediately after turning the computer on
* during startup
* after startup
* when using one specific program?
Do you have an external printer?
An external disk-drive?

Without all the above information, just call the Psychic Hot Line -- they're waiting for you to call, because they're psychic, and they can "lay hands" on your computer, to make it heal itself.

HP Pavilion A6130N setup error

Did you buy the computer new? It should have come with recovery disks, also called operations disks. I have had to do this with my hp pavilion lap top a few time over the past few years so that it would run faster. If the recovery disks aren't in there, call the company. They are always supposed to be included. I've always had good luck with hp, you might even go to hp's website. It's really good as well.
