How do I install my ink cartridge for a hp officejet 4215 all in one

Turn on the HP printer. Lift the printer cartridge door, which is the right side of the printer, revealing the black and color ink cartridges. Push down on the front of the cartridge you need to replace and pull it out slowly. Unwrap the new ink cartridge and peel off the tape. Insert it at an angle into the cartridge slot. Apply gentle pressure until it clicks into place. Close the cartridge door and press "OK" when prompted.

If you see a message saying that you have an incorrect ink cartridge, a flashing cartridge light meaning a bad color cartridge or you are told to remove the color cartridge, you should follow these steps to correct the problem if you are sure you have installed the correct color ink cartridge.

I have purchased several color cartridges this past week for my HP Officejet 85Xi and I keep getting the message to remove and check color cartridge. I do that and I've even cleaned it with a damp towel....

Did you remove the seal from the cartridges before you put them in? Double check each cartridge. Are these genuine HP cartridges? Many people believe you can substitute 3rd party cartridges or fill the original with brand X ink. My experience has been such that I will not waste my time with non-genuine cartridges.

Cartridge

Easy! Just open the front latch by lifting up, unlock the cartridge you are replacing, and snap in a new one. I caution you to use only HP new cartridges for best results. You can find a pretty decent price on them at www.amazon.com. Also, reset your ink counter in the HP Image Zone to reflect the new cartridge install. Then run the align cartridges option and you're all set. Hope that helps. If so, please rate this solution. Thanks!

My G85 wont print yellow

This can happen for very old cartridges, even if they still have ink. The cartridges have a shelf life and can lose colors (usual yellow and cyan first) if stored for years.

If this is an original HP cartridge check the cartridge warranty date as shown here. If the cartridges are within their two year warranty call HP at 1-800-HPINVENt or contact your dealer for replacements. If the cartridges are beyond their warranty period then purchase a fresh cartridge.

When buying new cartridges look for the "install by" date on the package. I would look for a package with at least six months remaining before the "install by" date, which would have a year of remaining warranty.

When storing unused cartridges for an extended period keep them in a cool place and keep them upright as they would hang on a store display. This will provide maximum shelf life.

You can verify the issue is the cartridge by carefully blotting the printhead on a damp tissue. A good cartridge would have a stripe of Cyan, Magenta and Yellow, your cartridge will only show Cyan and Magenta.

I am sure that a fresh cartridge will solve your problem.

HP G85 All says remove and check color cartridge and prints only green/blue color

This is a known issue on this machine. What I do is open the printer as if replacing the cartridge and allow the cartridge holder to move to the exchange position. Then I unplug the power cable from the back and close the printer again. Keeping your finger on the power button, plug in the power cable again. Keep the button pressed for about 10 seconds, allowing the error flag to reset. Switch on again and wait for the initialise to finsh. It sometimes takes another 5 minutes for the message to disappear but it should go eventually.

HP OfficeJet G85

If its not recognizing the cartridge you probably need to go inside and clean the contacts. Best thing to use is ordinary rubbing alcohol but you should also get a can of dry air from best buy or similar place to blow out any areas you can reach. If you need instructions on how to take the machine apart email me at sanglemyer36@yahoo.com
