Question about Jacuzzi MAGNUM FORCE POOL PUMP - TWO SPEED 2 HP 115/230V

Getting to impellre

I found out how to take the impeller off of my Jacuzzi Magnum pump. I went outside to try the solution but I couldn't pull the pump from the Magnum Force Body. Is there a secret to getting them apart? I didn't want to pull to hard because that might not be the correct thing to do. I can unscrew the pump mounting nut (at least that is what the pump diagram calls it) but that doesn't loosen the pump from the Magnum body. What is the best way to get them apart?

Thanks for your help so far.

The impeller is what is holding it in on the end of motor is the impellel the impeller is in a houseing right off motor that is held togethere by screws you should disconect power then power for motor then remove water in/outtake there may be some kind of strap holding it down

How to change the seals on a jacuzzi magnun force 1 hp pool pump

Hi,
If you haven't already figured out how to change the seals on your Jacuzzi Magnum Force pump, I can help by supplying a diagram.
Here is the parts explosion for that pump.
Start by removing the case/basket assembly, then the diffuser to get to the impeller. Loosen the impeller to get to the seal plate.
When going to the trouble of changing the shaft seals one should change all the hosing seals at the same time because its a lot of work.

1hp magnum pump starts and runs but very little flow. then pump shuts down. checked for water supply and any blockage . none found in supply or return pump is about 8 or 10 years old

Sounds like a problem with the impeller, take off the lid, take out the pump basket and reach down and feel past the opening in the bottom, should feel a smooth and clean series of plastic blades, it is possible the blades a chewed up or its loaded up with hair.

I think you have spun the center out of the impeller. Get a replacement impeller at your pull supply place.

Pump will not turn on after being outside all winter(water was drained from pump housing. Just a humming noise. Thanks!

possibly the shaft is stuck. with the power off, try accessing the shaft from the inside the basket--maybe it can be reached with a screwdriver---try to turn the impeller a few times to make sure it is turning freely.

We are having issues getting the impeller apart on the jacuzzi magnum force pool pump and need some instructions on how to proceed.

I believe the jacuzzi pump impeller has a locking screw directly in the middle of the impeller. You'll have to turn it clockwise to remove it. Then you'll need to remove the cover from the back of the motor using a 1/4" nut driver. Depending on the motor, you should be able to use a 7/16" open end wrench to hold the motor shaft from turning as you turn the impeller counter-clockwise to remove it. Some motors are different, some have a keyed shaft or require a special tool to hold the shaft while the impeller is removed. Hope this helps.

Our Jaccuzzi Magnum Force pump extremely low pressure

Giving it a good cleaning probably clogged the pump impeller. If you vac'd the pool and the pump basket was packed with debrie it probably passed through and clogged. Split the pump and inspect the eye of the impeller. Low pressure means low flow.

Jacuzzi Magnum 1000 - overheating & looking for manual

Loosen the motor and impeller from the pump by backing off the large plastic nut and take that whole section to an electric motor repair shop for inspection. If the motor is salvagable, they can quote the repair or replacement.

Jacuzzi magnum pool pump impeller broke

The impeller on the Magnum pump unthreads counter clockwise as do other impellers. There is a shaft of the motor that runs the length of the motor, on the back of the motor when you take the bell housing off you will see a small silver spot with a **** in it for a standard screwdriver. Put the biggest one in there you can and then grab the impeller and turn it counter clock wise and it should unthread. Sometimes they won't if it has been on there a number of years. You will need to break it off if it doesn't unthread. Then just purchase a new Impeller for the Jacuzzi Magnum Pump.
