Hello,

It is very easy. Just right click on your document file and select SENDTO, after that, select your CDROM

this operation will burn your document into your CDROM directly.

Don't forget to insert a BLANK CD into your CDROM, before doing this process.

Hello this is Baris, I think I can help you with that. I am assuming that your CD Rom is capable of writing CDs. You can save the file in My Documents. After you save it open My Documents and right click on the file and click on save. Now you can go to My Computer and right click on your CD Rom drive (It is usually D drive) and click on Paste. Once you do this, your operating system will tell you that "you have files to be written on the CD" After this point you can chose to write it on the CD or copy more files in to your CD Rom drive and write all of them at the same time. Oh... Before you do this plase make sure you have an empty disk in your CD Rom. Good Luck :)

Have files on a CD that are read only. How can I remove read only so I can make changes to the files. Thank you.

You can use the xcopy command to remove the read-only attribute while you are copying files from a CD-ROM. Xcopy.exe resets the read-only attributes unless you specify otherwise by using the /k switch (this switch copies attributes). To use this method:

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
  3. Type xcopy drive letter:\*.* destination /e /h, where drive letter is the CD-ROM drive letter and destination is the path to the destination for the files, and then press ENTER. For more information about command-line switches for Xcopy.exe, type xcopy /? at a command prompt.

I want to save my picture files on the cd or dvd tape but i cant transfer it.

You need a burning software to burn your picture files, music, or video.
You can use NERO Burning ROM. Download it from HERE. You can use the "Data Burning" Feature in it to transfer your files into CD or DVD.

If you are referring to office documents such as word excel, and power point. Download open office and install then you will be able to open the documents.

Then either you can save them 1 of 2 ways.

Option 1
Click on File->Save As -> and change the file type to you choice (i.e .doc, .xls, .ppt).

Option 2 Click on Tools-> Options on the left pane you will see Load/Save.
Select the General at the bottom you will see a "Document Type" drop down box and "Always save as" drop down box. Change each one to their respective type. Please see the attached image for a better clarification.

Cd drive and burner are not working

Test the disc by using the command prompt to copy files loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); Try to copy files from the disc to the hard disk. If the hard disk cannot copy files, the disc might be damaged. If the files are copied successfully, there may be file types on the disc that the hard disk cannot read, or there may be a problem with the CD or DVD drive.

To test the disc by using a command prompt to copy files, follow these steps:
  1. Create a test folder on the hard disk, and then give the folder a folder name such as "cdtest." This is the folder to which you will try to copy files.
  2. Click Start, and then click Run.
  3. Copy and paste (or type) cmd in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
  4. Copy the files from the CD or DVD drive to the test folder on the hard disk. To do this, type xcopy DiscDrive:\*.* HardDiskDrive:\cdtest /v /e at the command prompt, and then press ENTER. Make sure that you replace “cdtest” with the name of your test folder.

Note In this step, DiscDrive is the drive letter of the CD or DVD drive with which you have problems. HardDiskDrive is the drive letter of the hard disk drive to which you want to copy these files.
  5. If you are asked whether cdtest specifies a file name or a directory name, press F.
  6. If you successfully copied the files from the disc to the hard disk, the disc is not damaged. To remove the copied files, type rd /s cdtest at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.

If you cannot copy the files, the disc may be damaged. Contact the manufacturer of the damaged disc to obtain a replacement.

If you mean that will you be able to open files created with Word 2003 with Word 2007 then you do not need to worry about compatibility.
Just uninstall the Office 2003 and install the Office 2007. You will be able to open old files without any problem.
