Question about Uniden BC72XLT Handheld Scanner

1 Answer

Only one bank blinks

Does this mean it is not scanning the other banks? I have other frequencies in bank 2, but only bank 1 is blinking. Hope this makes sense. I'm new to all this.

I read the manual and did as it directed, but it doesn't indicate if the other banks should be blinking as well. It's extremely frustrating. Thank you for your help.

Yes that sounds like the case. Every scanner or radio I've ever delt with that is the way it works. Check user manual on how to turn off and on banks. Good Luck.

Try putting a frequency that you know will have activity on it into one of the other banks that is not blinking. If you don't pick up anything then you know it has to be blinking to activate that frequency.

Radio shack pro 135 want to scan only one band

  • Now if your wanting to scan one bank or your radio and the stored frequencies are still separated in different bands (banks) then just push the number on the keypad that you want to not scan. The number on your screen will show the banks that are active. Do this until only the bank you want to listen to is visible. To scan them again just press the corresponding number again.

I have the BC370CRS SCANNER I am trying to clear all the memory and reset it. It is telling me to hold down 2, 9, and hold and turn it on. That is not working. Can you please tell me another way to do...

Locking/Unlocking Banks When you are scanning conventional banks, the scanner displays the digit corresponding to all unlocked banks. To lock out a bank so that the scanner does not scan its channels, press the letter that corresponds to the bank. The bank's letter disappears from the display. To unlock locked-out banks, simply press that bank's letter again. The bank's letter appears on the display and the scanner includes that bank when scanning. Note: You cannot lock out all banks. One bank must be unlocked at all times. Locking/Unlocking Channels To lock out a channel so that the scanner does not stop on it while scanning, press L/O when the scanner is stopped on that channel, or manually select the channel and press L/O. To unlock the channel, manually select it and press L/O again. Restoring All Locked Out Channels You can restore all locked-out channels in a bank only when the bank is selected for scan. Follow these steps to restore all locked-out channels in a bank. 1. If you de-selected the bank, press SCAN then press the bank's letter. 2. Press MANUAL. 3. Hold down L/O for about 2 seconds. The scanner beeps twice and unlocks all To delete a stored frequency, press 0 then press E. Channels with no frequencies are automatically locked out hope this helps

hello You can unlock all locked out channels in any bank at one time. To do this, first press a bank key to start scanning. Then press [HOLD] to stop scanning. Press and hold down [L/O] ("L/O" appears on the screen) for more than 2.5 seconds until you hear the multi-beep ("L/O" disappears). I have a uniden bearcat portable and base I cant figure out how to program it

With the scanner powered ON,

1. Press [HOLD].
“HOLD” appears on the
display.
2. Press [PROG]. CH appears
and blinks to indicate that you
are in the Programming Mode.
To change the displayed frequency,
use [UP] or [DOWN]
while “CH” is blinking.
3. Press [PRIVATE]. “PRIVATE”
appears on the display.
If you want to program it into
another bank, press the
desired bank key. The lowest
open channel appears on the
display.
2 screens alternate to indicate
that open channel is available
to be programmed.
The scanner automatically
selects the lowest open
channel (000.0000) for easy
programming. If all channels
have been programmed (there
are no open channels in the
bank), channel 1 appears.
Use [UP] or [DOWN] to select
a new channel and even overwrite
old channels.
4. Press [PROG] to store the
frequency in the desired
channel.
Note: Press [BAND] to escape
from programming mode before
step 4.

How to program an Icom IC-R5 handheld scanner

to store a fcy press BAND to go to your fcy range ie 118.000 airband
dial your fcy ie 127.900(shanwick ocean area control) press and hold V/M for 1 sec, small numbers now blink, dial the memory slot you wish to store into ie 001 then press V/M again for 1sec and this will store 127.900 into mem slot 001. make a list:-
mem number / fcy / mode(am - fm) / station / bank
to prog a fcy into a "bank", press V/M for 1sec - blinking mem numbers - dial mem number ie 001(127.900) press MODE - "bank" flashes past-
-- -- -- -- 001 shows, turn dial to show A-00 this is the first "bank", pressing BAND scrolls through all the alpha "banks" - choose one.. ie A-00 (for airband..) press V/M this puts mem 001 into "bank" A mem slot 00, there are 100 slots in each letter 00 to 99. do this to any fcy you want to scan as a group.
to scan a bank press V/M - small numbers appear -
press BAND to scroll through any "banks" you have created ie A B C D etc (only banks with fcys in will display), press MODE -"bank"- press MODE again and you will start scanning just that "bank" of mem slots.
MODE starts and stops the scan... each letter holds 100 mem slots.. happy scanning!!!

Can you recomend PC software for ICOM IC-R5 scanner

try this....
create an "airshow" bank to scan just the airshow fcys.
press V/M for 1sec -blinking mem numbers- dial a known mem that has an airshow fcy stored in it ie 025 (127.875) press MODE "bank" will flash past..
-- -- -- -- A-00 shows up ( I use this bank for airshows) press V/M, this puts mem 025 (127.875) into "bank" A mem slot 00, each letter holds 100 mem slots , put all your aishow fcys in here and when you scan bank A you will only scan the airshow fcys and not the entire airband!!
to scan a bank...
press V/M - small numbers show- press BAND this will diplay your bank letters, just select A## then press MODE for 1sec -"bank"- press MODE again and you will start scanning just A for airshows...
press MODE to start and stop the scan.. happy scanning! ps Southport was not as good this year as last year although it was good to see the vulcan again!!

BC72XLT program/scanning problems

1. If you mean on "bank" of channels, then you have locked out the others. To unlock them, place the scanner in "scan" mode & press each button that corresponds to each locked out bank until all are "on", as indicated near the top of the LCD. If you can't scan "bands", meaning all frequencies between 25-54, 118-174 & 406-512 Mhz, you may be stuck in the "capture" mode. Let me know if this is the case (not likely) & I'll coach you through it.

2. No.

3. No.
