Kenmore Refrig 51562 Side By Side; Icemaker leaks water underneat
The Icemaker receives water at full flow...no obstructions. The Icemaker also makes cubes and dispenses them to the bucket fine. The problem is that during the freeze cycle, water drips from underneath the tray and makes 'stalagtites/mites' in the freezer. The entire refrigerator is level front to rear and side to side.
Any thoughts? I am guessing maybe a leaky gasket or maybe a small crack I cannot see...

Yes a clogged filter could indeed make the water dispenser not work...it too would affect the icemaker as well, is ice being made?? if yes icemaker is working yet no water being dispensed what ya need to check for is a cracked or broken line and instead of water is leaking out of it somewhere.
The water tube to the icemaker inside the refrig maybe frozen up. Thaw out with your hair dryer. To make sure the tube is clear. Shut of the water to the refrig, disconnect the inlet water line to the icemaker. Insert a flexable through the connector fitting, I used a zip tie. The flexable item should go all the way to the icemaker
Solution #2 Replace the "water inlet valve" at bottom back right of refrig. Easy To Do.
It sounds like the icemaker is making hollow cubes , and the unfrozen water in the cubes , after dumping , freezes and causes the ice shells to stick togather . This is a sign of " not enough water going into the icemaker " . Replace the water inlet valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to , on the refrig .
Make sure the fill cup does not have any ice in it. The little cup that the tube fills when it calls for water. Besides that I would recommend changing the icemaker module on the front of the icemaker. It is held on with 3 screws.
Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker ( if there is no cubes in there now ) . If the icemaker dumps the cubes when frozen , replace the water valve . If it doesn't dump , replace the icemaker . Also make sure the coils at the bottom of refrig in front , are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc . Also check the plastic hose inside the freezer , to the icemaker , to make sure it is not frozen . If it is , replace the water valve , due to slow drip leak .
The problem is actually not the ice maker itself. The problem is the electric solenoid valve in the rear bottom of refrigerator. If you follow the water line on the back of the unit down to the bottom and replace the valve that it is connected to then your problem will be solved. Hope this helps. Good luck cj2176.
it over filling or it leaking from the mold i never seen thi model over filled mold when i see wtr in bin is usually the mold that is leaking you can check with a mirror or remove to inspect is texture is peeling off repl entire ice maker if is ok then repl wtr valve is not closing when it has filled the mold you only need 4oz of wtr
